INSTALLING THE NAVIGATOR USING THE 3 point LAP & DIAGONAL
SEAT BELT
8
Position the Navigator forward facing onto
the vehicle seat, making sure it fits snugly
INSTALLING THE NAVIGATOR USING THE 3 point LAP & DIAGONAL
SEAT BELT
9
Place your child in the Navigator. Carefully
pull the lap and diagonal seat belt out and
fasten it across the Navigator and your child
making sure the seat belt is not twisted.
Thread the lap section of the seat belt under
both armrests on the booster seat making
sure the belt is positioned across your child’s
thighs, not stomach. Make sure the seat belt
not the seat belt buckle (see seat belt buckle
position page 12) rests on the lower red seat
belt guide on the side of the seat base. Pull
the diagonal belt to remove any slack from
the lap section and then pass it under the
arm rest next to the seat belt buckle. Slide the
diagonal section of the seat belt into the red
upper seat belt guide on the opposite side to
the seat belt buckle. Make sure the red upper
seat belt guide is positioned correctly with the
diagonal section of the belt lying over your
child’s shoulder and not against the neck (9).
Remove any remaining seat belt slack by
gently pulling the diagonal belt section.
No child car seat is escape proof. To
help encourage your child to stay
restrained in their child seat always
make sure your child seat is correctly
adjusted for the size of your child.
11
using the navigator in the car
IMPORTANT:
Make sure the diagonal section of the seat belt runs freely through the centre of the
red upper seat belt guide to ensure the seat belt will recoil correctly.
Do not install the Navigator into a seat where the vehicle upper seat belt anchorage
point is either level or forward of the Navigator’s red upper seat belt guide.
seat belt buckle position
10
When you have fitted the Navigator it is
important to check the position of the seat
belt buckle. No part of the seat belt buckle
should rest on the red lower belt guide (10).
11
If any part of the seat belt buckle has been
pulled around the seat shell into the red
lower belt guide (11) the seat is not suitable
and must not be used. Try another seating
position in the car.
