Mr. <strong>Uceda</strong> is a fully trained Ophthalmologist who has undergone additional specialist training in refractive<br />
surgery. He has performed more than 9,000 procedures, including LASIK, Epi-LASEK, PRK, Phakic<br />
intraocular lens treatment, Intracorneal Inlays, Cataract and Refractive Lens Exchange treatments.<br />
Mr <strong>Uceda</strong> underwent postgraduate training in general pathology, ocular pathology and ophthalmology from<br />
1995 to 2001, both in the United States ( Howard University, Wash. DC.) and Spain (Virgen del Rocio<br />
University Hospital, Seville).<br />
Mr <strong>Uceda</strong> was the medical director as well as responsible for the refractive surgery unit of two Vissum<br />
Corporación Oftalmologica clinics, one of the leading institutions in ocular surgery in the world. He has also<br />
been one the Principal Researchers of the Network of collaborative research in ophthalmology (RETICS)<br />
sponsored by the Spanish Ministry of Health. The main achievements of this research group are related to<br />
refractive surgery and keratoconus and are being constantly published in international meetings and peer<br />
reviewed scientific journals.<br />
As a result of his continuous dedication to laser vision correction he was appointed as a Physician Trainer<br />
by VISX, lecturing internationally and teaching other surgeons how to obtain the best results with this<br />
technology.<br />
Twice every year, Mr.<strong>Uceda</strong> attends International Medical Advisory Board (IMAB) Conferences and is<br />
annually assessed by this board. The panel consists of several of the world's most eminent refractive<br />
surgeons including Mr. Steve Schallhorn, former Head of Ophthalmology for the US Navy and Professor<br />
Jan Venter, a world leading Ophthalmic <strong>Surgeon</strong>.<br />
His dedication to his profession and patients is evident from his clinical experience and continued<br />
attendance at seminars and conferences as both speaker and delegate.<br />
