<strong>2012</strong>-<strong>2013</strong> DRESS CODE:<br />
DO’S and DON’TS
To reduce the amount of violations<br />
To clarify dress code for parents,<br />
students, and staff<br />
Reduce time away from instruction due<br />

To practice appropriate attire in the<br />
workplace
Shoulders, back, midriff must be covered<br />
at all times (NO SLEEVELESS<br />
SHIRTS/DRESSES)<br />
Shorts: no shorter than the length of the<br />
middle finger when held at sides<br />
Skirts/<strong>Dress</strong>es: no shorter than 4 inches<br />
above the knee (NO SPANDEX)<br />
Undergarments must be covered at all<br />
times (COVER BRA STRAPS AND<br />
UNDERWEAR)
Leggings, yoga pants, etc. MUST be worn<br />
with shirt, shorts, skirt that is finger tip<br />
length or longer<br />
When wearing team uniforms to school,<br />
athletes are to adhere to the <strong>Kingsway</strong><br />
High <strong>School</strong> dress code in their dress.

The items below may be comfortable, but do not promote an<br />
atmosphere of learning
When a student violates the dress code, he or she will be<br />
asked to change. If a student refuses to change, it will be<br />
viewed as insubordination and will result in ISS.<br />

Each violation will be documented and written<br />
documentation of the violation will be sent home.<br />
<br />
Any clothing provided to the student to rectify the violation<br />
must be returned. If clothing is not returned, it will be<br />
documented as an “obligation” and treated according to<br />
district policy.
1st Offense –warning/ rectify situation + letter home<br />
2nd Offense – warning/ rectify situation + letter home<br />
3rd Offense – one (1) administrative detention/rectify<br />
situation + letter home<br />
4th Offense- two (2) administrative detentions/rectify situation<br />
+ letter home<br />
5th and Consecutive Offenses- three (3) administrative<br />
detentions/rectify situation + letter home<br />

Insubordination = immediate placement in ISS
