TerrAktiv –
the innovative additive
Market leader in organic substrates
Klasmann-Deilmann is market leader when it comes to organic substrates.
In dialogue with ecologically-minded horticultural businesses, Klasmann’s KKS
organic substrates are being continually enhanced and we are further distancing
ourselves from the competition in terms of quality. The production process for
organic substrates is tested and approved by an independent EU ecological
certification organisation. These organic substrates comply with the guidelines
and requirements of growers associations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
All raw materials and fertilisers used for organic substrates are organically
certified, GMO-free and pollutant-tested.
Green compost – the most important additive
Chief component of organic substrates is high quality green compost from
Klasmann-Deilmann.
To ensure that the raw material is of consistently high quality, this substrate
compost is produced at our own composting facilities. The green residues
undergo regular inspection, as do the collection points. The same applies to
the rotting process, which is continually checked by chemical analyses.
Biological parameters, too, are constantly monitored to the extent of conducting
growth trials with sensitive plant species. In addition, inspections are conducted
several times a year by an independent external certification organisation.
Klasmann-Deilmann was the world’s first manufacturer to receive the Dutch RHP
foundation’s seal of approval for substrate compost.
TerrAktiv is a high-quality green compost enriched
during rotting by biodynamic preparations which
ensure that micro-organism activity is stimulated.
Specially added predative mites support the
biological suppression of sciarids in the greenhouse.
TerrAktiv complies not only with RAL criteria but
also with the requirements of the RHP foundation
and EU organic standards.
TerrAktiv FT, an innovative variation of TerrAktiv,
is an organic fibre that is fermented by special
processes. Fermentation stabilises the fibres and
also mobilises added organic nutrients. TerrAktiv FT
is the ideal additive for organic blocking substrates
since it increases air capacity in press pots and
optimises root development in the organic cultivation
of vegetable young plants. Klasmann substrates
with TerrAktiv FT can be processed in any standard
machines for press pot production.
