<strong>Sodium</strong> <strong>Carboxymethyl</strong> <strong>Cellulose</strong> is a cellulose derivative with carboxymethyl groups (-CH2-COOH) bound<br />

to some <strong>of</strong> the hydroxyl groups <strong>of</strong> the glucopyranose monomers that make up the cellulose backbone. It is<br />

<strong>of</strong>ten used as its sodium salt, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose.<br />
