Philosophy
• Already 1998 Theben has put actuators with a speacial philosophy on the
market:
– main device with bus BCU
– extension device for increasing the number of channels without BCU
(these are cheaper than basic devices and therefore the channel prices
decrease)

Positioning of the Mix-devices
• These follow-up devices – today‘s Mix-series – are considerably
efficient and have more applications.
• Besides every main device can be combined with any extension device,
that leads to
– high flexibility
– favourable channel prices
• Within this Mix-series there are:

– Heating actuators
– Blind actuators

• All devices can be combined optionally:
- RMG4 S + RME4 S + RME4 S = 12 x switching
- RMG4 S + RME4 S + DME 2 = 8 x switching + 2 x dimming
- RMG4 S C-Last + DME2 + DME2 = 4 x C-load + 4 x dimming
- DMG2 + DME2 + DME2 = 6 x dimming
- etc.

Positioning of the actuators
• The previous strengths will be kept:
- expandable
- manual switching and LED for supervising channel
- high switching capacity with optimized relay contacts
• Further strengths will be added:
- the combination of switching and dimming
- C-load actuators for higher loads (can also be combined )
- full functionality at all channels only one application
- the behaviour after bus loss and bus-/net recovery can be programmed
- channel contacts on one site of the device for easier wiring

RME4 S
• Switching capacity 16A, expendable up to 12
channels
• Feed back object for each channel
• Central objects with or without priority
• Switching functions: ON/OFF, impulse, on/offdelay,
staircase lighting with cut-off early warning.
• Logical associations:
inhibit, AND, enable, OR
• Call up and store scenes
• programmable behaviour at bus loss
• Programmable behaviour at bus-/net recovery
• Manual switch ON, OFF, BUS, switching also
possible without bus voltage
• There is also the same functionality with the C-
load-relays which can be combined optionally
with this products.

Dimming actuators
• The strengths of the dimming actuators
- expandable up to 6 channels
- manual switching and LED for supervising channel
- operation of different loads on the different is possible
- doubling of the dimming power with Dimm-Booster DMB2
(simple parallel wiring)
- extensive „soft functions“

Dimm-Booster
• Dimming per main- or extension module:
2 x 300W or 1 x 500W
in combination there are following possibilities:
6 x 300W or 4 x 300W + 1 x 500W or
2 x 300W + 2 x 500W or 3 x 500W
• With use of the Dimm-Booster DMB2 the dimming power
can be double at every appliance:
2 x 600W or 1 x 1000W
• central objects with or without priority
• automatic R/C, L-load detection
• Diagnostic and feed back objects
• programmable behaviour at bus loss
• Programmable behaviour at bus-/net recovery
• Manual switch ON, OFF, BUS, switching also possible
without bus voltage
• Dimming extension moduls can be combined with
switching main moduls

Positioning of the binary inputs
• The functionality of the inputs are unique:
- expandable, up to 18 inputs
- LED for supervising channel
- multi current inputs from 8 V DC to 230 V AC
- connection of floating contacts; internal power unit for this purpose
- each input can be use for different purposes
- length of the wires: 100m

Heating actuator
• The heating acuators are used for the control of thermal actuators and have
following features:
- 4 LED for indication of the status
- 4 manual switches ON / OFF / BUS
- noiseless Triac use in the heating circuit distributor
- 4 floating outputs 24-250 VAC
- up to 5 thermal actuators/channel

– constant and switching servo value
can be selected
– forced object for each channel
– emergency programm during BUS or
telegram failure
– summer mode and ventile protection
– pump control directly through the
actuator
– minimum and maximum servo value is
adjustable and therefore different
behavior by being above or below
these values

Blind actuator
available end of 2006:
• extension of the Mix-series with blind actuator JMG 4 S & JME 4 S
• there will be developed no pure shutter actuator (differentiation in
price)
• per module 4 channels, that means 12 channels in total up to 12
units
• 3 safety objects but with changed safety adjustments
(e.g. at the end of safety, it will send the last value)
• Tension of the cloth at the sun shades application
• Copying of the parameter sides per module is possible
• no drift correction

binary inputs
so you can obtain very cheap combinations
2. enlargement up to 6-channel dimming,12-channel blinds, etc.
3. Manual swichting even at dimming devices
it‘s easier to install
4. Multi voltage input at binary input
only one device is necessary
5. The customer will stay very flexible by the possibility to combinate
the different moduls. But he also can work with a „proper line“.
