Introduction
The Purolator MICROPAK Permanent Economy
Hood (MPPE) is a supply hood designed for
cleanrooms requiring clean air from ISO Class
4 (Class 10) to ISO Class 8 (Class 100,000). A
gel sealed MICROPAK filter can be installed or
removed from the clean room side without removing
or disturbing this innovative hood assembly.
Applications
The MPPE is used in cleanrooms where minimal
downtime is critical–conditions common to the
Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries. It is generally
installed on 1.5" T-bar ceilings.
MICROPAK Filters
The MPPE utilizes our unique Purolator MICROPAK
Mini Pleat filter design, available in 2" depth. The
MICROPAK specified for the MPPE shall have a gel
seal channel on the upstream side which mates with the
extruded knife edge on the MPPE. Two efficiencies are
available: 99.99% on .3 micron scan and 99.9995% on
.12 microns.
Suggested Specifications
1. The MICROPAK Permanent Economy Hood
(MPPE) shall be a permanent ducted supply hood as
manufactured by Purolator Air Filtration.
2. The MPPE shall be constructed of anodized, extruded
aluminum with a bare mil finish aluminum plenum
back.
3. All seams shall be sealed with silastic caulking.
4. An adjustable distribution plate shall be provided to
disperse the supply of air.
5. The HEPA filter shall have a white expanded grille on
the downstream side.
6. The hood shall have four hanging tabs.
7. Static pressure port and distribution plate adjustment
shall be made through the filter centerboard.
8. The housing and filters shall be designed for a 1.5"
T-bar grid.
