Sailing Club<br />

Since 1891 <strong>Carrickfergus</strong> Sailing Club<br />

(previously <strong>Carrickfergus</strong> Amateur Rowing<br />

Club, founded in 1866) has been an important<br />

element in the sailing community. Offering<br />

a varied programme of events, information,<br />

training, racing and helpful advice.<br />

Sea Cadets<br />

The sea cadets organise community<br />

activities, social events and, vitally, educate<br />

young people in the skills involved in sailing.<br />

Belfast Lough Sailability<br />

Its plain sailing by disabled people<br />

Belfast Lough Sailability was established in<br />

September 2001 and received charitable<br />

status in May 2002. It is an accredited RYA<br />

centre for Sailability.<br />

Based at <strong>Carrickfergus</strong> <strong>Marina</strong>, Belfast<br />

Lough Sailability has specially adapted boats<br />

and equipment to enable people with all<br />

ranges of abilities to enjoy and experience<br />

the thrill of sailing.<br />
