My work is focused on motion planning algorithms and their applications to computational biology.
• Designed and implemented a new algorithm, Multi-directional Rapidly Exploring Random Graph for motion
planning. This is an unification and generalization of traditional RRT and RRG algorithm. This also extends
the RRG algorithm by allowing expansion to multiple directions.
• Worked on user-guided motion planning. It is aimed at integrating the power of human and computer and
developing co-operative strategy. Currently, I am working on a novel user-guided motion planning strategy
where the user can guide the planner by attracting/repelling to/from certain critical/difficult regions.
• Also worked on resampling based path smoothing strategy for motion planning and protein folding.
