The <strong>Sky</strong>-X UCAV Technology Demonstrator, conceived to test technologies relevant to a wide range of civil security missions, specially ground<br />
observation, surveillance and reconnaissance, had its ¬ first flight on May 2005. Since then different flights were carried out con¬firming operational<br />
performances in its full flight envelope and also demonstrating some key UAS functionalities, like: Auomatic Take Off and Landing, Synthetic<br />
Vision in support of bad visibility and emergency operation, Automatic Join Up with other aircraft and in-flight mission replanning. The <strong>Sky</strong>-X<br />
technology demonstrator was the first sophisticated UAV in Europe to fly over 1,000kg category.<br />
