Darkroom Assistant<br />

Salary : HK$8,575 per month<br />

Entry Requirements :<br />

have basic knowledge of film sizes;<br />

have attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent<br />

to Form 3 standard; and<br />

be able to speak fluent Cantonese and simple English.<br />

Preference would be given to candidates with relevant working experience in<br />

darkroom procedures.<br />

Duties :<br />

A Darkroom Assistant is mainly deployed on –<br />

preparing and processing films;<br />

replacing and formulating film processing chemicals;<br />

performing simple day-to-day maintenance work of darkroom equipment;<br />

recording the consumption of supplies in the darkroom;<br />

cleaning and tidying up the darkroom and the equipment; and<br />

performing any other duties as assigned by senior officers.<br />

Notes : (1) Regular working hours from 7:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. from Monday to<br />

Friday.<br />

(2) May be required to be deployed to different X-ray Units under this<br />

Department to meet the operational needs.<br />

(3) May be required to work irregular hours and shifts.


Terms of Appointment :<br />

Successful candidates will be appointed on 12-month non-civil service contract terms.<br />

Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the Department and the performance<br />

of the candidate.<br />

Fringe Benefits :<br />

10 days annual leave, rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity<br />

leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the<br />

provisions of the Employment Ordinance.<br />

Application forms [G.F.340 (Rev. 3/2013)] are obtainable from any Public Enquiry <strong>Service</strong><br />

Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the<br />

Employment <strong>Service</strong>s Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded<br />

from the <strong>Civil</strong> <strong>Service</strong> Bureau’s website at http://www.csb.gov.hk.<br />

The application period for the post of Darkroom Assistant is from 24 May 2013 (Friday)<br />

to 30 May 2013 (Thursday). Candidates should state in detail in the application<br />

forms their working experience relevant to the entry requirements. Completed<br />

application forms [G.F.340 (Rev. 3/2013)] should reach the above enquiry address on or<br />

before 30 May 2013 (Thursday) with the envelope clearly marked “Application for the<br />

post of Darkroom Assistant”. For applications submitted by post, the postmark date on<br />

the envelope will be regarded as the date of application. Applications which are<br />

incomplete, late or not made in the prescribed form will not be considered.<br />

Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about six<br />

to eight weeks from the closing date for application. This period may be longer in<br />

exceptional circumstances, e.g. when a large number of applications are received or when<br />

there are other complications. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that<br />
