Darkroom Assistant
Salary : HK$8,575 per month
Entry Requirements :
Candidates should –

Note :
have basic knowledge of film sizes;
have attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent
to Form 3 standard; and
be able to speak fluent Cantonese and simple English.
Preference would be given to candidates with relevant working experience in
darkroom procedures.
Duties :
A Darkroom Assistant is mainly deployed on –

preparing and processing films;
replacing and formulating film processing chemicals;
performing simple day-to-day maintenance work of darkroom equipment;
recording the consumption of supplies in the darkroom;
cleaning and tidying up the darkroom and the equipment; and
performing any other duties as assigned by senior officers.
Notes : (1) Regular working hours from 7:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. from Monday to
Friday.
(2) May be required to be deployed to different X-ray Units under this
Department to meet the operational needs.
(3) May be required to work irregular hours and shifts.

Terms of Appointment :
Successful candidates will be appointed on 12-month non-civil service contract terms.
Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the Department and the performance
of the candidate.
Fringe Benefits :
10 days annual leave, rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity
leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the
provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the
Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded
from the Civil Service Bureau’s website at http://www.csb.gov.hk.
The application period for the post of Darkroom Assistant is from 24 May 2013 (Friday)
to 30 May 2013 (Thursday). Candidates should state in detail in the application
forms their working experience relevant to the entry requirements. Completed
application forms [G.F.340 (Rev. 3/2013)] should reach the above enquiry address on or
before 30 May 2013 (Thursday) with the envelope clearly marked “Application for the
post of Darkroom Assistant”. For applications submitted by post, the postmark date on
the envelope will be regarded as the date of application. Applications which are

Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about six
to eight weeks from the closing date for application. This period may be longer in
exceptional circumstances, e.g. when a large number of applications are received or when
