IH <strong>Renal</strong> Network Becomes a<br />

• April <strong>2010</strong> the IH <strong>Renal</strong> Network officially became one<br />

program report<strong>in</strong>g to VP Tertiary Services<br />

operationally.<br />

Celebrate <strong>Program</strong> Successes<br />

• PRH renal team won a Patient Quality Award for the<br />

Involved Care Unit<br />

• Angela Romyn was recipient of the CANNT Amgen<br />

Novice Researcher Award for her upcom<strong>in</strong>g master’s<br />

thesis work<br />

• Karen Forsberg received a CRN<strong>BC</strong> Award of Excellence<br />

<strong>in</strong> Nurs<strong>in</strong>g Practice<br />

• Alietha Mart<strong>in</strong> co-authored and published a paper <strong>in</strong><br />

the Canadian Journal of Nurs<strong>in</strong>g Research<br />

• Congratulations to our RNs for obta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g their CNEPH<br />

and to our newly graduated LPN’s


Facilities and Equipment<br />

• The past year has seen the <strong>in</strong>stallation of new RO<br />

systems <strong>in</strong> Invermere, Grand Forks and Kamloops. The<br />

RIH RO be<strong>in</strong>g the first “heat clean” system <strong>in</strong> IH<br />

• Renovation to the Invermere CDU<br />

• Grand Forks CDU was relocated and 1 chair added<br />

• New Artis Mach<strong>in</strong>es for KGH, VDU, RDU and KBRH<br />

• 2 additional Belco Mach<strong>in</strong>es for RIH
