GRYPHON COUNCIL UPDATE<br />
Students ready to compete in the <strong>Gryphon</strong> Council “Minute to Win It” challenge.<br />
Happy New Year from the Senior<br />
<strong>Gryphon</strong> Council! Just before the winter<br />
break, we hosted many holiday events<br />
including dreidel spinning, gingerbread<br />
decorating, and pictures with Santa.<br />
With all these fun events now in the past,<br />
this new year brings many new events to<br />
look for ward to.<br />
Matchmaker forms were just completed<br />
by the students, so this Valentine’s Day<br />
should be very exciting to see who will be<br />
the best match!<br />
Dodgeball took place on <strong>January</strong> 20th. It<br />
helped students to let go and relax before<br />
many of their mid-year exams.<br />
Floor hockey Intramurals will begin in<br />
February. With the success of basketball<br />
Intramurals in November, f loor hockey<br />
will be a great addition to our spor t<br />
events.<br />
The always popular Café Night is coming<br />
up on Friday, February 3rd. Students will<br />
have the oppor tunity to per form in front<br />
of their peers. Whether you sing, play an<br />
instrument, per form a play or have any<br />
other talent you wish to share now is a<br />
great time to star t practicing!<br />
It will take place after school on the main<br />
stage and is a great oppor tunity for all<br />
the students to get together and watch<br />
some fantastic per formances! Make sure<br />
you send in your per formance information<br />
with all your technical and music needs.<br />
The second dance of the year is also<br />
coming up this February. The annual<br />
formal dance will be held on February<br />
24th from 7:00pm to 11:00pm and will<br />
have a Titanic theme!<br />
Ticket prices will be $8 two weeks prior,<br />
$10 the week before, and $12 the week<br />
of and at the door. Students will have the<br />
oppor tunity to have their photos taken<br />
with their friends in their formal clothing,<br />
which is a great memory for everyone!<br />
