We ran several sets of dictation cylinders in VRA 52, here are a few more. The Dictaphone was Columbia’s counterpart to Edison’s Ediphone. This set of Secretarial
Permanent Practice Records bears a 1929 copyright date, so they were made after Dictaphone separated from Columbia in 1923. There were two dozen cylinders in the
complete set; they have a 150 tpi groove pitch and play at 100 rpm.

Ediphone, the content was selected and dictated by Edward H. Eldridge, Director of the School of Secretarial Studies, Simmons College, Boston, MA. Therefore, Lot 9475 is
Mr. Eldridge speaking, not Mr. Roosevelt!
