METHODIST COLLEGE TO HOST SPECIAL OLYMPICS COMPETITION<br />

FAYETTEVILLE, NC—<strong>Methodist</strong> College will be host to some very special athletes<br />

from Fort Bragg and Cumberland County for the Special Olympics Individual Skills<br />

Basketball Competition. The event, scheduled for January 26 and 27 from 9 a.m. to 12<br />

noon, will be held in the March F. Riddle Physical Activities Center on the campus of the<br />

College.<br />

The athletes participating are comprised of students from Cumberland County and Fort<br />

Bragg schools as well as adults with disabilities and intellectual challenges.<br />

Athletes will compete in divisions according to ability level and all will leave as winners.<br />

The event will start with ceremonial torch lighting and will conclude with a traditional<br />

award ceremony.<br />

The competition will include a 10-meter dribble, spot shot and target pass.<br />

The event is being coordinated by Special Olympics of Cumberland County. For more<br />
