in the history of entrepreneurs („Unternehmergeschichte”) began, Since 1993<br />

– Director of the newly founded „Ludwig Boltzmann-Institut für Kriegsfolgen-<br />

Forschung“, Graz/Vienna/Klagenfurt. Academic co-operation with institutes<br />

such as the Russian Academy of Science, Moscow; Eisenhower Center in New<br />

Orleans, the RGGU, Moscow, the MGU-Moscow, the Russian State Archives<br />

Agency in Moscow, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Defence (international<br />

questions of security), International Law Office of the Austrian Foreign Ministry<br />

(humanitarian international law) and others, Since 1995 – Author of TV<br />

documentaries in the field of history, such as „Lost Years: War Captivity in the<br />

Soviet Union”. Participation in the 18th World Congress of Historians in Montreal/Canada.<br />

Main preparation of the panel discussion of „Sequels and Consequences<br />

of War”, Since 1995 – Representative of Austria in the „European<br />

Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI)” of the European Council<br />

in Strasbourg, 1995 – Elected „The Austrian Academic of the Year 1995”<br />

– Academic advisor to the Austrian Foreign Office and the Foreign Minister<br />

concerning the topic of war and post-war effects in the Balkans. 1997 – 2004<br />

– Representation of Austria in the EUMC in Vienna, 1998 – 1999 – Supervision<br />

of the research project on the topic of forced labour in connection with<br />

foreign workers 1938 – 1945, including Soviet citizens, 1998 – 2000 – Adviser<br />

of Chancellor Klima and Vice Chancellor Schüssel in questions of restitution
