If you have any concerns about your fee assessment speak to staff in the office, who have experience in advising students on these matters. The Students’ Union Advice Centre also has two members of staff who provide advice and guidance on personal finance, debt management, income maximisation and applying for bursaries. They are usually free to see students from 9.30am – 4.30pm, Monday – Thursday and 9.00am – 3pm on Friday: Connie Craig Financial Adviser: advises on grants, loans, fees, Support/Hardship Funds, the financial aspects of repeating years and course changes, Social Security Benefits and other financial issues. Also offers guidance on budgeting and money management and students do not need to be in a ‘crisis situation’ in order to seek advice. We strongly recommend that you register with the Centre even if you come from Northern Ireland. This is so that they can provide you with care should you become unwell at University. Its recently renovated facilities offer a state-‐of-the-‐art gym, a range of indoor facilities for team sports, a climbing wall, exercise studios, a comprehensive class timetable, an outdoor training area and much more. The PEC is located in Botanic Park, a five-‐minute walk from the main Queen’s campus. All fully enrolled Queen’s students are automatic members of the PEC and are entitled to subsidised, All Inclusive memberships. Some 47
