<strong>Chain</strong> <strong>condition</strong> <strong>analysis</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Pasteurizers</strong><br />
Successful processing in tunnel pasteurizers,<br />
warmers and coolers requires high reliability of the<br />
main conveyor chain which conveys the products<br />
through the tunnel Pasteurizer during processing.<br />
Elimination of unscheduled downtime by avoiding<br />
unexpected chain failure is essential to ensure<br />
productivity of the Pasteurizer. An unexpected chain<br />
failure can lead to costly downtime of the machine.<br />
In the tunnel Pasteurizer environment, the reliability<br />
and lifetime of the MatTop conveyor chain is<br />
influenced by high temperatures, heavy loads, water<br />
treatment chemicals and cleaning procedures.<br />
To ensure reliability, it is important to monitor<br />
the <strong>condition</strong> of the main conveyor belt during its<br />
lifetime.<br />
Without a detailed <strong>analysis</strong> it is impossible to<br />
evaluate the <strong>condition</strong> of a Pasteurizer conveyor<br />
chain, and there<strong>for</strong>e <strong>Rexnord</strong> has introduced a <strong>Chain</strong><br />
Evaluation Service.<br />
The <strong>Rexnord</strong> <strong>Chain</strong> Evaluation Service is a laboratory<br />
inspection service of chain samples taken out of the<br />
Pasteurizer chain in order to determine the <strong>condition</strong><br />
of the chain. The laboratory inspection consists of<br />
yield strength testing and <strong>analysis</strong> of the fatigue<br />
strength data. This <strong>analysis</strong> gives insight in the<br />
current chain <strong>condition</strong> and the extrapolated lifetime.<br />
All data is made available in a detailed report. It is<br />
advisable to evaluate the <strong>condition</strong> of the Pasteurizer<br />
chain on a yearly base.<br />
