Dear Dr. Snows
This will confirm my recent',visit with you on
August 28, 1956,
At the time of MY visit your facilities, equipment
and radiological protection practices appeared to
be satisfactory for the types and quantitiea of
radiolsotopee you are using. We therefore do not
have any specific recommendations to make at this
time.
In regard to your questions concerning a broad
license, I am enclosing a partially completed sample
Form AEC-313 for your guidance. Item 8, "Maximum
amount of radioactivity in millicuries that you will
possess at any one tim," should reflect your
anticipated needs for each byproduct material between
Atomic No. 3 and 83, inclusive, for a 24 month
period.
A general possession limitshould be established for
your normal needs and a higher possession limit. can
be requested for special radioisotopes. An over-all
total possession limit at any one time for all
byproduct material should 1e estimated. Any waste
materials stored on your property should be iscluded .:
