3-Day Management Development Program
in
Strategic Leadership
July X Y, 2011
Program Director: Professor Swapan Kumar Majumdar,
BTech, PGDM (IIM-B), MSc (London School of Economics) MPhil (Imperial College, London), PhD (IIT-D)
Introduction
Today's challenging economy calls for global executives who can lead strategically, responsibly, and
ethically. In response, the Strategic Leadership Program provides the latest management concepts and
tools to transform senior executives into indispensable leaders. Participants leave with a broader
vision of success—equipped to make the tough decisions required to manage through the downturn
and position their organizations for growth and profitability. The environment confronting business
leaders today is unprecedented and volatile. The theories and models that guided decision making in
the past no longer seem to provide leaders with all the answers. Increasingly, successful leaders rely
on their own judgment to make decisions.
This course addresses the challenges of strategic leadership. The concept of strategic leadership
serves as the overarching framework for the course and provides intellectual underpinnings in four
specific areas: The strategic environmental context; strategic leader competencies; organizational
change; and creating resilient and effective organizations.
It is specially designed for the senior executives o, and heads of product divisions, geographical
regions or corporate functions, who have significant management or leadership responsibilities. The
programme complements functional understanding with a holistic approach that helps participants to
build judgment in their specific contexts.
