GENERAL INFORMATION
Base Order 1700.17B identifies authorized patrons. It is changed and updated on
a regular basis – please consult the most recent order. Authorized patrons include,
but may not be limited to:
Active Duty Military Personnel
Retired Military Personnel
Members of Reserve Military Components
Foreign Active Duty assigned to U.S. bases
Veterans with 100% Disability
Medal of Honor Recipients
Legal Family Members / Dependants with ID cards (minors require valid guardianship)
Civilian Employees (MCCS) & Retired DOD Civilians

SEASONAL PROCEDURES
SUMMER SEASON: 1 APRIL THROUGH 31 OCTOBER
During the summer season and ALL HOLIDAYS, reservations are made in three (3)
or four (4) day blocks.
OPTION 1 – Friday to Monday (Monday checkout) 3-night stay
OPTION 2 – Monday to Friday (Friday checkout) 4-night stay
OPTION 3 – Monday-to-Monday or Friday-to-Friday; 7-night stay
Check in Time: 1500-2100
Check out Time: Prior to 1000 hours
WINTER SEASON: 1 NOVEMBER THROUGH 31 MARCH
During the winter season, cottage stays may be up to thirty (30) days, subject to
availability. Extensions may be granted upon application to the General Manager.
Consideration will be given to cottage availability and past compliance with beach
rules and regulations.
Check in Time: 1500-2000
Check out Time: Prior to 1000 hours
NOTE: Holidays are reserved in four (4) day blocks ONLY.
Length of Stay: Maximum of seven (7) days, subject to availability.
CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS
• Altering reservations that include a holiday will be cancelled.
• Reservations for periods that include holidays are FINAL.
• Reservations are considered final once payment is received. All reservations
will be charged two weeks prior to arrival. A cancellation fee of one night will be
charged if cancelled within the two week period.

CAMPSITES ARE PROVIDED FOR OCCASIONAL RECREATION USE,
AND NOT INTENDED AS TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT RESIDENCE.

A camping unit is defined as a licensed vehicle or tent designed for sleeping. A unit may
be a motor home, trailer, truck camper, van, tent or any other vehicle or device designed
for, or capable of, providing shelter for ordinary habitat of one (1) or more persons.
A unit that is not properly licensed, or without current registration, shall not camp at
San Onofre Beach. The reservation price is for one (1) unit only. There will be an
additional fee for units or tents, SUV and/or tent canopies, or any unit used for sleeping.
SEASONAL PROCEDURES - LIMITED STAYS
SUMMER SEASON: 1 APRIL THROUGH 31 OCTOBER
During the summer season, campsite reservations may be made for a period of
(30) Thirty days. (Limited stays may be granted after the initial reservation, subject
to space availability and past compliance with the facility rules and regulations. All
requests must be filed with the Beach Office and the General Manager). Patrons
will be subjected to relocation after thirty (30) days. Maximum reservation shall not
exceed sixty (60) days. Failure to move or relocate for any reason will immediately
void the extension agreement and the patron will leave San Onofre Beach. Upon
the expiration of the extension, the patron shall leave San Onofre Beach for a
minimum of three (3) consecutive days.
WINTER SEASON: 1 NOVEMBER THROUGH 31 MARCH
During the winter season campsite reservations may be made for thirty (30) days.
(Limited stays may be granted after the initial reservation, subject to space availability
and past compliance with the facility rules and regulations. All requests must
be filed with the Beach Office and the General Manager). All limited stay patrons are
required to move at the end of each thirty (30) day period.
NOTE: Holidays are reserved in four (4) day blocks ONLY.

PAYMENT OF FEES AND CHARGES
L IMITATIONS
• Management reserves the right to move patrons and assign all sites as we require to
meet operational requirements. We do not take requests nor will honor requests
for specific site numbers.
• Additional passenger vehicles will park in the Beach Club parking lot adjacent
to the Beach Office. DOD vehicle decals or Parking Passes (issued by the
Office) are required. Passes are required for ALL VEHICLES.
• Maximum of (8) eight persons per site (North Camp Excepted).
• All vehicle information must be current and owners must be able to provide
current registration, proof of insurance, and valid military I.D. card, to utilize facilities.
• All vehicles must be in “Move Ready” condition at all times. Patrons may be
responsible for removal, and or, any fee associated with the removal of their
vehicle(s) if non-compliant.
• Vehicles must be self-contained and shall not use utilities from cottage.
• Camping units may not interfere with other defined parking or passages and
must be within designated camping areas only.
GROUP CAMPING APPLICATION AND PROCEDURES
Group reservation requests for camping are accepted. All requests are to be
filed with the Beach Office and will be subject to space availability. All groups will
require at least one (1) authorized patron to sponsor the group and remain with the
group at all times. Group camping requests may be submitted, no earlier than, nine
(9) weeks prior to the desired date. Group campsite rates & rules are available
through our Group Reservation Office.

UNIT PARTIES
The large Cabanas & Upper Picnic Area at San Onofre Beach are available for Unit
parties on a First Come / First Served basis unless reserved by an Officer, or SNCO
of the Unit, in advance. A “Unit Reservation Form” must be completed, filed and
approved, in advance, by the Beach Office. The responsible Unit member must
remain, at the site, for the duration of the party.
BEACH REGULATIONS
The Beach Area is closed between the hours of 2300 hrs to 0600 hrs. Failure to
comply will be considered trespassing. Leaving personal property on the beach
overnight is prohibited. MCCS is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
1. Swimming – Swimming or other water activities are authorized only during Lifeguard
hours of operation, which are posted at the main Lifeguard building.
2. Prohibited Items – Glass, glass containers or wood which contains any metal,
nails, fasteners, staples or treated with any chemical, paint, preservative or
related covering, dogs, vehicles or POV’s.
3. Open Fires – Open fires are not permitted on the beach. Fires are permitted, in
the concrete fire rings provided throughout the beach area, for authorized patrons.
These authorized patrons are responsible for the safety and well being of their
guests, and or children, and should exercise good judgment and caution when
having controlled fires. (See prohibited items above). Fires must be extinguished
by the patron and must be extinguished with water only – the use of sand is
prohibited. Unauthorized fires are cause for immediate eviction.
4. Charcoal Cooking - Charcoal cooking is restricted to charcoal broilers provided
throughout the beach and campground area.
5. Pets – Pets (dogs, cats, etc.) are prohibited on the beach or bathhouses. All pets
must be kept on a leash (6 ft. maximum) or contained in proper or commercial pet
containers. Owners must pickup and properly dispose of feces left by pets. Pets
deemed to be a nuisance (loud continued barking, etc.) shall not be tolerated and
must leave the beach grounds upon proper notification by the Beach Staff. Owners
are fully and legally responsible for the actions and/or damage caused by their pet.
6. Alcoholic Beverages – Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the beach after sunset.
7. Speed Limit – The speed limit is 10 MPH or safe speed throughout the park.
13. Parking – Only privately owned vehicles with Camp Pendleton vehicle decals,
other military base vehicle decals, or San Onofre Beach parking passes (available
at the Beach Office) may park in one of the many lots within the beach complex.
No POV’s camping in parking areas. Failure to comply will result in vehicle citation (s)
from the Provost Marshal’s Office and will be towed away at the owner’s expense.
14. Sanitation – Hours: 0800-1600. Dumping of holding tanks, portable tanks,
gray water, or sewage, in any place other than the dumping station, is cause for
immediate eviction without refund. In addition, patron(s) may incur cleanup fees
or fines. The dump station is located, by the Ball field, at the southern end the park.
Violators WILL be reported to the Assistant Chief of Staff for Environmental
Services for disposition. For RV pump out service information, see office.
15. Firearms – All privately owned weapons/firearms brought aboard Camp Pendleton
must be registered at the Provost Marshal’s Office within 24 hours of arrival, or
on the next business day. Written proof of PMO registration must be presented
to the Beach Office. Failure to comply will result in immediate eviction from
cottage,campsite or the beach area.
16. Day Use – A fee will be charged for group day use. (Active duty units excluded).
SHOWER FACILITIES
The Shower facilities are open between 0800 hrs. to 2000 hrs. daily. All facilities may
be closed for cleaning, as required, on a daily basis. Surfboards, body boards, etc.
are prohibited inside the facility. Destruction or vandalism within/or to the building will
be reported to the Provost Marshal’s Office. Sponsors are responsible and liable for
all damages done to base property by their guests or members of their party.
LAUNDROMAT
Coin operated laundry machines are open daily and are located within the
bathhouses. The hours are from 0800 - 2000 hrs.
MISCELLANEOUS
• Children under the age of twelve (12) may not be left alone.
• Skateboards, roller blades, skates, off-road vehicles, scooters, etc. are prohibited.
• Washing of R.V.’s or P.O.V.’s is prohibited.
• Emergencies should be reported to the Beach Office, Park Hosts, Lifeguards
or by dialing “911”.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
Campsites at Camp Pendleton are for recreational use only. They are not designed
for, nor shall they be used for, full-time residency. Notwithstanding any other limitations.
ALL WHEELS MUST REMAIN ON THE TRAILER. ALL GUESTS MUST HAVE A
REGISTERED VEHICLE ABLE TO TRANSPORT ALL 5TH WHEELS AND
TRAILERS AT ANY TIME. The total length of stay at any or all MCCS campsites
shall not exceed six (6) months per year. Failure to comply with Beach Rules or
Procedures will result in immediate eviction without a refund. Eviction from any
MCCS Camp Pendleton Camping facility will disqualify a patron from all other
MCCS Camp Pendleton Camping facilities.
Patron use and enjoyment of the MCCS San Onofre Beach facilities is a privilege
and not a right. That privilege is conditioned upon Patron’s compliance with MCB
Camp Pendleton Base Orders, Bulletins, Regulations, and all verbal and written fire,
safety and security directives issued by MCCS San Onofre Beach General Manager
and cognizant MCCS personnel. Failure to comply will result in immediate termination
of MCCS San Onofre Beach patron privileges.

areas, will result in immediate cancellation of the reservation. In addition, the
authorized patron shall be charged a fumigation and cleaning fee.
• Cottage should be inspected by maintenance personnel prior to checkout.
Failure to do so, or if checkout occurs during non-working hours, may result in
cleaning or repair charges if the cottage is found to be in disarray, dirty,
damaged, or any condition deemed to be unreasonable (less normal wear).
• NO SMOKING in the cottages. All cottages are Smoke Free.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards.
Declined or invalid Credit Cards/ATM Debit cards will void the reservation. Payment
shall be made in advance in accordance with current policy and may be made
through the mail by personal check (must be received 14 days prior to check-in),
money order, or traveler check. Checks must be payable to MCCS ACTIVITY 0140
and must have, imprinted or written, the name, address, and phone number of the
signer. The last four digits of the sponsor’s social security number must also be
printed on the check (Post dated checks will not be accepted). All checks taken as
payment for reservations must be in the requester’s name. Patrons must indicate
location (San Onofre), dates or reservation, and category (i.e., cottage or campsite) on
the personal check. Payment may be mailed to:

8. Signs – Signs for advertising items to be sold - “For Sale” signs must receive prior
approval from the General Manager prior to display.
9. Trash and Debris – Trash and debris must be policed and disposed of in a proper
manner. Please utilize the many trash receptacles for that purpose. Littering may be
cause for eviction.
10. Children and Guests – Children and guests must not be left unattended. Day
Use guests must vacate the beach by 2300 hrs.
11. Fishing – Surf fishing is permitted, please consult the Lifeguards for the proper
areas. A California Fishing License and a Camp Pendleton Base Fishing
License is required. Scuba diving from the shore is prohibited.
12. Quiet Hours – Quiet hours will be observed between 2300 hrs. To 0600 hrs. Loud
talking, music, generators, parties, pets, etc. are prohibited.
