SUMMER LANGUAGE AND
LITERACY CAMP- 2010
THERAPY GOALS
Our program is organized around a different exciting theme each week while focusing on
specific language and literacy therapy goals:
Receptive Language: Following Directions, Basic Concepts, Sequencing Events
Expressive Language: Theme-based Vocabulary, Sentence Structure, Descriptions
Social Language: Initiating and Participating in Conversations with Peers
Literacy: Phonological Awareness, Print Knowledge, Rhyming and Letter-Sound
practice
ADDITIONAL FUN
Additional sessions will be provided by qualified instructors who will enrich each childs
communicative experience using:
· Music
· Movement (balance, dance, rhythm and coordination)
DETAILS
· For children ages 4 6
· The camp will run Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. in July 2010
· The Camp is run by fully qualified speech-language pathologists assisted by a
student aide/counselor
· Parents will receive a progress report and suggested home practice activities
· English sessions available only

SCREENINGS
· In order to ensure that this program is suitable for your child, and to allow for
proper group assignments based on skill-level, a screening session will be
mandatory this year.
· Recent reports may also be requested.
· A small fee for the screening will be required.

CAMP DATES, COSTS and LOCATION
Session 1 July 5-8 & 12-15
Session 2 July 19-22 & 26-29
· Children must sign-up for a 2 week session. This two-week period allows the
child to learn the routines and expectations of camp and maximize their language
progress.
· Cost: $370 per week for a total of 740$ per 2 week session
· As the number of places is limited, we will require a deposit of $100 to reserve a
place for your child (following the screening date). Your deposit is credited
towards the Camp fees, which will be due in full by June 5 th , 2010.
· Camp is held at The Montreal Oral School for the Deaf, 4670 Ste. Catherine W in
Westmount, which is next door to our own Westmount location.

BURSARIES
Like all of our therapy programs at the MFC, bursaries are available to help subsidize the
cost of camp. All families can request a bursary application form and those who qualify
will receive a subsidy towards the cost of each weekly session.
THE MOSD-MFC PARTNERSHIP
The MFC and MOSD share a vision to provide quality services to children with communication
challenges and their families. We are proud of this community collaboration and look forward to
welcoming children from MOSD, MFC and the wider community to our summer language camp
2010.
The Montreal Fluency Centre and the Montreal Oral School for the Deaf are non-profit
organizations.
The summer language camp program is partially funded by donations.
