Del. Allen W. Dudley ’67,
of Rocky Mount, has been
reelected for his fifth two-year
term in the Virginia House
of Delegates. Dudley serves
as delegate for the ninth
legislative district.
Beverly T. Fitzpatrick, Jr. ’67,
of Roanoke, has been elected as
Chairman of Blue Ridge Public
Television. WBRA covers
14,000 square miles in Central,
Southside and Southwest
Virginia.
John G. Kines, Jr. ’68 (right),
of Hopewell, receives the 20-
year service medal from
Brigadier General Manuel R.
Flores, director of the Virginia
Selective Service office. He
formerly served as a member of
the U.S. Selective Service
Eastern Virginia Appeals Board.
He was presented a commemorative
resolution commending
his 20 years of federal service.
He is a former member of the
Ferrum College Alumni Board
of Directors.

as a banking officer. She is also
treasurer for the Charlotte
County unit of the American
Cancer Society.
James L. Chitwood, Jr. ’76, of
Pulaski, was named top selling
agent for May and June 2001
for Century 21 Home Town
Realty.
Michael A. Knight ’76, of
Stanley, is managing partner of
Knight & Lucas Construction.
Thomas M. Young ’76, of
Rocky Mount, is employed by
Franklin County Public Schools.
He has been selected as Region
VI 2002 Virginia Teacher of the
Year. He was the first teacher in
Franklin County to obtain
National Teacher Certification.
Capt. Thomas L. R. Cole,
III ’78, of Charlottesville, is
employed by F & M Bank-
Central Virginia as a branch
manager. He retired from the
Army National Guard in 2001.
He is a Virginia High School
League baseball umpire.

manager of The Ice Station.
Timothy G. Sims ’88, of

Monument as a park ranger. He
is responsible for managing the
park’s “Interpretive Farm
Program.” He is also involved
in researching, designing and
presenting programs both at the
park and off-site.

commissioner in the city’s
Commissioner of Revenue
office. He was recently featured
on the Lifetime Channel’s
“Beyond Chance,” in a
story about his lost and
recovered class ring.

football coach.
