St James’s Gate Brewery is a key site within the Europe Beer division of Global Beer Supply,<br />
Diageo plc. The St James’s Gate vision is to be the supplier of choice within Diageo Global<br />
Supply and to be one of the most admired breweries in the world.<br />
Diageo has committed to a new development, including a state of the art Brewhouse, at the<br />
St James’s Gate site. This role is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in the operation<br />
of an industry which is vibrant with current investing developments.<br />
The <strong>Role</strong> reports to Wally Norris, Health & Safety Manager, St James’s Gate Site. This role is<br />
a unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience in Health and Safety project<br />
management.<br />
Responsibilities<br />
The Supply Chain function is working to continuously improve occupational health and<br />
safety standards including compliance to Diageo <strong>Risk</strong> Management Standards and statutory<br />
legislation are key focus areas within our strategic plan<br />

Build / rebuild of task and specific <strong>Risk</strong> <strong>Assessment</strong>s, including engaging cross<br />
functional teams to achieve compliance.<br />
Supporting the development and implementation of global best practice Zero Harm<br />
tools and processes and risk management standards<br />
Promote, coordinate, and facilitate the active exchange of best practices,<br />
procedures, lessons learned, and other pertinent in<strong>for</strong>mation on safety across the<br />
SJG site<br />
<strong>Development</strong> of project plans to deliver<br />
Work actively with stakeholder groups to build capabilities and share learnings<br />
Support the site Health & Safety Management Programmes<br />
Support site‐wide H&S audits<br />
Qualifications<br />
The role holder should possess a primary or secondary degree in a Science / Engineering<br />
discipline.
Experience<br />
Possession of industrial experience in operations environments with Health & Safety and<br />
exposure to the following areas would be advantageous:<br />

Good understanding of risk assessment, auditing and incident investigation<br />
processes.<br />
Should have strong analytical, problem solving and auditing skills.<br />

Demonstrates proven project management skills.<br />
The individual must be computer literate able to challenge and influence others in an<br />
objective and constructive manner<br />
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs, particularly EXCEL and<br />
PowerPoint<br />
Good report writing and presentation skills<br />
Strong organisational ability with good attention to detail<br />
Ability to work on own initiative<br />
Ability to work under pressure<br />
We <strong>for</strong>esee this internship opportunity commencing in April, however it is also open to<br />
Final Year students and will last <strong>for</strong> 12months<br />
