NURISTAN PROVINCE<br />
A decrease in cultivati<strong>on</strong> is expected in 2006, following a sharp increase in 2005. Nuristan is<br />
located high in the mountains, <strong>and</strong> most planting will begin in mid-March, by which time villagers<br />
may have opted to cultivate alternative crops. Opium poppy cultivati<strong>on</strong> may match levels reported<br />
in 2005.<br />
