I am often asked what drives us at Arbesko. 

And my answer is always the same – unceasing 

inquisitiveness and a desire to create something 

new. We are also driven by a desire to develop 

the tradition we are carrying on. After all, this 

company has been in the same family for 170 

years! The fact that we were first and are still 

here is clear proof that our values, our way of 

working and our inquisitiveness result in safety and 

occupational footwear that always meets, and very 

often exceeds, our customers’ requirements and 

expectations. 

Another driving force for us as a Swedish 

company lies in developing Swedish products 

and demonstrating that we can compete in an 

international arena. Arbesko is an exceptionally 

innovative company and we are almost unique 

in the industry in that we conduct our own 

research. Our decision to carry out our research, 

development and production in Sweden was a very 

conscious choice. This is where the experience 

and knowledge we need come from. Moreover, 

thanks to many years of industrial health and safety 

legislation, the Swedish market places the highest 

conceivable requirements on us and our products. 

This raises us and our quality even higher. 

Some safety and occupational 

footwear may feel pleasant and 

soft when you first try them on, 

but it doesn’t necessarily give your 

feet the right support. Shoes that 

are too soft make your legs and 

feet tired, and can lead to pain and 

strain injuries. 

A correctly constructed shoe 

should have effective shock 

absorption, support the arch of 

the foot, have a sturdy, rounded 

heel grip, be torsion resistant 

and should also bend with the 

foot. Test these properties out for 

yourself the next time you try on 

shoes, and do it with your hands. 

Try to twist the shoe with your hands. A 

shoe with an arch support is stable and 

torsion (twist) resistant, and provides good 

support for the foot – the more torsion 

resistant the better. 

Feel the heel grip – it should be made of 

strong material, feel sturdy and should 

follow the natural roundness of your heel. 

Grip the heel and the toe and try to bend the 

whole shoe – it should not bend at the arch 

but just behind the toes.

Energy Gel Duo ® . 

Double shock absorption. 

Energy Gel Duo® provides double 

shock absorption with an elastic gel 

cushion in the heel, and a pleasantly 

load-relieving gel disc in the tread 

section. The gel disc reduces 

strain on the pad of the foot and is 

especially appreciated by anyone 

who spends a lot of time standing 

on hard floors.

Stability System. 

The best foundation for footwear. 

Stability System is Arbesko’s proprietary 

fundamental concept for making shoes that 

are comfortable to stand and walk in all day 

long, last longer than normal and that are also 

ergonomically correct (which is good for the 

whole body). It is a seal of quality beyond the 

everyday standard.

1. Lasted leather. The leather is pre-stretched and carefully 

fastened under the insole. This ensures the leather does not stretch 

and the shoe maintains its fit.

2. Stable heel grip. The heel grip is anatomically rounded and 

moulded from strong material to maintain fit and hold the heel firmly 

but comfortably in place. 

3. Moulded insole. The insole follows the natural curve of the foot, 

providing comfortable support throughout the life of the shoe. 

4. Arch support. Necessary, comfortable support for the foot, 

which helps ensure a sturdy, torsion resistant shoe that bends with 

the foot.

also one of the very few to focus on how important the shoes you 

wear at work are for your life outside of work. The secret behind the 

innovative design, the exciting materials and the pioneering technical 

solutions is of course our continuous development work. This is, and 

always has been, the strongest guiding principle for our company. 

The results are clear in Arbesko’s proprietary features, such 

as Energy Gel ® shock absorption, its successor Energy Gel Duo ® 

and the three different functional soles you can read more about 

elsewhere in this catalogue. The list is a long one. A host of new 

solutions are launched for each new generation of footwear – always 

appreciated, sometimes revolutionary – and here, as in any fashion

Needless to say, all our development work takes place in close 

collaboration with product developers, designers and the qualified,

Asymetrix and Active Plus 

Soles that fulfil more than one 

function 

Look underneath the shoe as well. 

There is a great deal of science here in 

the form of well considered cleating and 

functionality. For instance, the unique 

combination of lines, cleated patterns 

and surface structures (which we use in 

both Asymetrix and Active Plus soles) 

provides firm slip resistance on both

Asymetrix Nitrile 

Durable and heat resistant 

Asymetrix Nitrile is our most hard wearing functional sole. 

Its durability is virtually unmatched. The sole provides 

excellent grip on all types of slippery surfaces. And it is 

unbeatable in extremely hot environments. Asymetrix 

Nitrile can withstand temperatures of up to 300˚C, but is 

not only suitable for jobs requiring high heat resistance. 

Arbesko safety footwear with a nitrile rubber sole is 

a natural choice for foundries, metal industries, car 

workshops and many other tough environments.

Protects toes against falling objects to 200 

Joules and compression to 15000 Newton, in

Protective toe cap of aluminium 

The protective toe cap made of light, strong 

aluminium, rather than steel, saves 100 g per pair 

of shoes, and gives better balance in the shoe. 

Protects toes against falling objects to 200

Penetration protection 

Protects against penetration by nails and other

Soft penetration protection 

Our new soft penetration protection is made 

without metal. Instead it has been developed from 

various high-tech textile fibres. Shoes with the 

new penetration protection are very comfortable, 

more flexible (bendy) and do not conduct the 

cold. Needless to say, the penetration protection 

fulfils prevailing safety norms, EN 345 / EN ISO 

20345. 

Oil-resistant 

The sole is oil-resistant and withstands 

chemical contact well. 

Heat resistant 

The soles are heat-resistant to 300 °C, and 

also insulate against heat radiation. 

Water-repellent 

The leather is impregnated or coated with an 

outer layer that makes the shoe water-repellent. 

Energy Gel 

Energy Gel is an elastic gel cushion placed in 

the heel of the shoe, and is specially designed 

to produce optimal effect. The cushion is 

pressed together by the force of the step, 

thereby absorbing the shock. In addition to 

highly effective shock absorption, Energy Gel 

also gives some of the energy and ‘lifting power’ 

back when reverting to its original shape. 

Energy Gel Duo 

A highly effective shock-absorbing construction 

with an elastic gel disc in the tread section of 

the shoe and an elastic gel cushion in the heel. 

Energy Gel Duo is an evolution of the well-known 

Energy Gel and effectively absorbs the strain 

placed on the foot’s tread section when walking 

and standing a lot on hard floors. 

A-Tex 2 

Unique construction that makes the shoe 

water resistant. Comprises two layers of Water 

resistant, breathable material, and a tunnel sewn 

lining with a porous fabric in the edge of the leg 

which transports condensation away effectively 

like a chimney.

Arbesko sponsors the Swedish Skills Team. 

Youth Skills Sweden’s mission is to increase interest in 

trades and vocational education among young people. 

The organisation organises national competitions, and the 

winners qualify for the Swedish Skills Team and represent 

their country in EuroSkills and WorldSkills. The Swedish Skills 

Team comprises 20-30 young people (aged up to 22) from 

different occupations, including bricklayers, welders, florists, 

goldsmiths, car painters, electricians, hairdressers, cooks, 

offset printers and professional drivers. 

It feels natural that Arbesko should sponsor the Swedish 

Skills Team. We are happy to help stimulate interest in these 

types of occupations again. At the same time we hope to make 

young people aware of how important it is to choose the right 

footwear at work. Which, ultimately, can only be a good thing.

Moisture Transport System is Arbesko’s proprietary 

concept for creating a pleasant environment 

for working feet. It is based on the shoes, soles 

and socks working together, on well considered 

constructions, interwoven air channels and innovative 

materials. And the result? An effective moisture 

transport system that keeps feet nice and dry, day 

after day. 

Instead of conventional foam rubber, the tongue 

contains an airy material that ‘breathes’ and aids 

ventilation. 

The socks are made of material 

that wicks moisture away, keeping 

feet dry. They also have ventilation 

channels and thinner sections that 

effectively lead moisture away from 

the foot. 

Ventilating material, fast drying lining, airy 

constructions and natural leather – all to help 

ventilate moisture out of the shoe, fast. 

The Poliyou ® insole wicks moisture away from the foot and sock, and 

keeps feet nice and dry all day long. The moisture is absorbed by the 

insole and then evaporates before the next working day.

Insoles with optimum comfort 

Poliyou ® insoles are anatomically designed and constructed 

to create a dry, comfortable, odour free working 

environment for your feet. The special construction of PU 

foam with open cells ensures ventilation and moisture 

absorption. The core is made of bamboo, a natural material 

which absorbs odour and impedes fungal and bacterial 

growth. The sole is also pleasantly shock absorbing. 

Poliyou ® insoles are designed for all Arbesko shoe models 

– the aim being to offer you the best possible comfort, 

durability and function. Poliyou ® is also an important 

element in our Moisture Transport System. 

Poliyou ® insoles are of course washable. They are also 

a good environmental choice – the sole is made of 70% 

recycled material and also contains natural bamboo.
