Denver is a vibrant city with 300 days of sunshine annually, year-round adventure
and the breathtaking Rocky Mountains in our backyard. From a thriving arts
and culture scene, world class attractions and endless shopping possibilities, to

Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Denver is one of America's most
beautiful cities – and one of the most fun. Here, you'll find the nation's largest
city park system, 90 golf courses and an incredible 850 miles of paved bike trails.
But Denver is also a cultured and sophisticated city. The Denver Art Museum has
doubled in size with a new building designed by Daniel Libeskind. The Denver
Performing Arts Complex is the second-largest in the nation, with 10 theatres
seating 10,000 people for theatre, symphony, opera and ballet.
Denver has the tenth-largest downtown in the United States, a bustling area
centered around a mile-long pedestrian promenade that is walkable – best seen
on foot – and lined with outdoor cafes and flower baskets. From every street are
mountain views; in fact, the panorama visible from Denver is 120 miles long and
includes nearly 200 named peaks. Downtown Denver is home to three new sports
stadiums, 300 restaurants, a restored historic district filled with 90 bars, restaurants
and brewpubs, a collection of museums, a variety of galleries and shopping, the
second-largest performing arts center in the nation, three college campuses and
even a unique downtown amusement park, Elitch Gardens.
Getting around the Mile High City is easy. Free shuttle buses travel up and down
the mile-long 16th Street Mall, stopping on every corner as often as every 90
seconds. Light Rail offers connections to the Denver Tech Center and Platte River
Valley.
When it comes to Denver weather, there’s no need for guessing games. Cool,
casual clothing is ideal for our warm, sunny summer days. Sunglasses are a must,
but when the sun goes down, the Denver weather may change. Evenings can
be cool, so it’s advisable to have a light sweater on hand. Summer days in the
mountains are quite pleasant. However, summer storms can arise suddenly, and
those who venture into the backcountry are strongly advised to have long pants,
long-sleeved shirts and a warm jacket close at hand. Enjoy our Denver weather!
