Bucketts of Care
This year, we will be
celebrating Education week by
joining with the other Bucketts
Way Schools at Gloucester
Recreation Centre on Thursday
1st August. On this day, the
students will be involved in
learning about volunteers in our
community and will be rotating
through displays and activities
hosted by these groups.
Students will travel to
Gloucester by bus.
Children to wear school uniform
and their school hat.
We need two plates of cooking
from each class for morning
tea for volunteers.
Sausage Sizzle will be available
for lunch. Please pre-order
your sausage sandwich by
Friday 26 July.
The cost to participate in all
Education week activties is
$10 per student. this includes
Science on the Move and the
transport to Gloucester.

Book Swap
On September the 5th we will
once again be holding a book
swap where children are asked
to donate any books they no
longer use for other children
to purchase for a gold coin
donation.
The money raised goes
to the Indigenous Literacy
Foundation to purchase books
for Aboriginal children
living in remote communities.
Even though this is a while
away, please consider if you
have some books available
that your family cound donate
to support this event.
Library Borrowing
Year 3/4/5/6 have time
available to borrow from our
school library on Wednesdays.
K/1/2/3’s borrowing day is on
Thursdays. Students have not
been borrowing regularly. Our
school library has a wide range
of books available, fiction as
well as information books on
many topics. Please encourage
your child to borrow on their
allocated day by reminding
them to bring their books each
week to exchange for new
ones.
Interest Groups
Beginning on Thursday of
Week 4 children will participate
in an elective activity from
1.30pm - 2.15pm for 6 weeks.
The interest groups being
offered that children will have a
chance to select from are;
scrapbooking, cooking, prop
making, dance and singing (for
our upcoming performance),
gardening, band and for our
sneior boys wood work. Anyone
who has an interest they would
like to share with the students
please phone the school and
we are happy to add your
activity to our afternoons.
Parent Helpers
Would you have some time
available in your week that you
could spend helping work with
students in our classrooms?
We would appreciate help
from voluntees. Please see
the attached sheet with a
timetable showing the time
slots available.

Fruit And Vegetable Month
Starting from Monday 29th
July and concluding Friday
20th September our school
and canteen will be promoting
fresh fruit and vegetables.
Every time your student brings
in fresh fruit or vegetables for
fruit break or buys fresh fruit or
vegetables from the canteen
they will receive a sticker.
Once they have received four
stickers they fill out their entry
form and return to canteen and
receive a reward. Once the
competition concludes entries
will be sent to Sydney Markets
to entry the major prize draw.
Woolworths Earn & Learn
Thank you to students, parents
and community members who
supported our school by
collecting Woolworths stickers.
We collected 3360 points
We will receive some Maths
resources with these points
beginning of next year.
Principal’s Morning Tea
Will be on Wednesday of week
3 for those children who have
received their bronze award.
If you have received five merit
certificates this year please
return your books to school
by Thursday so that you can
receive your bronze award at
assembly.
