CIRCUIT & RALLY RACING: UNLEADED FUELS
AUTOMOTIVE FUELS
NEW! VP-N6
VP’s newest FIA Rally Fuel debuted in Europe and Asia and has been immediately
recognized as a "go-to" fuel under the new 2014 FIA Appendix J technical regulations.
In North America rally racing our Rally Max does just that - makes max
power for competitors like David Higgins and Travis Pastrana on the Rally America
tour. In Europe and the Asian Pacific Rally’s where racers have a choice of which
fuel to run, VP has fueled many of the top teams. New VP-N6 makes max power,
is very tune friendly, and equally importantly - very competitively priced.
SPEC. GRAV. .723 kg/m3 @ 15˚C
Ethanol-free C9 makes 4-6 more HP and ft/lbs of torque than standard 110 fuels
while preventing problems caused by ethanol in pump petrol, which leaves
deposits, clogs injectors, attracts moisture and separates while in storage. C9 is
a spec fuel for the ACT American Canadian Series and makes great power in any
stock or slightly modified engines.
For newer engines or older vintage and classic vehicles that relied on lead
for engine protection, MS98 is a leaded fuel with an octane rating of 98 (R+M/2)
that contains no ethanol and offers extra protection against detonation. With a
shelf life of up to 2 years in its original sealed container, MS98 offers worryfree
storage of autos, bikes or boats that sit for extended periods and improved
engine starts and on-track performance. MS98 is also sold as VP Vintage Leaded
in some markets. For unleaded blend, refer to C9 on page 10.
FUEL EVALUATION
Don’t be fooled by other fuel companies that focus only on the RON octane rating
of their fuels. In FIA and FIM racing RON essentially states the max RON allowed
for a compliant fuel. Only the Motor Octane (MON) rating accurately measures
a fuel’s performance under a high load, i.e., racing conditions. While focusing on
the MON of different fuels will help ensure you’re comparing apples to apples,
other key fuel properties are equally important, including burning speed, energy
value, cooling effect, vaporization, etc. Additional information and technical
support is available at VPRacingFuels.com.
PACKAGING
VP fuels are available in 19, 57, 114 and
204 litre factory sealed containers, all of
which are lined to prohibit rust, corrosion
and metal deposits that can contaminate
fuel delivery systems.
METHANOL
SPECIALTY FUELS
M1 Methanol
M1 Racing Methanol has a 99.95% minimum purity - the highest purity available
in the U.S. With M1, engines run cooler and are less subject to corrosion.
VP uses only lined drums which prohibit rust, corrosion and metal deposits
that can contaminate fuel delivery systems. Recommended for all methanollegal
racing applications.
M5 Methanol
Best performing methanol on the market. Upgraded combustion additives make
more power than M1, i.e., 5-7% more power than standard methanol - with the
same or better protection against detonation. M5’s improved vaporization offers
a wider acceptable range of air/fuel ratios and tuning, while faster combustion
speeds provide more consistent performance from run to run. Oxygenated.
OCTANE BOOSTER
NEW! Octanium
An octane concentrate for off-road use
that increases octane up to 8 numbers,
reduces knocking and pinging, cleans
fuel injectors and improves throttle
response and acceleration. One quart
bottle treats up to 10 gallons.
TRACTION COMPOUND PRODUCTS
LC7 Traction Compound
VP’s premier traction compound, Lane Choice 7 represents the pinnacle
of performance across the widest range of temperatures from cold to hot. It’s
recommended for 30º to 150º+ track temperatures, thus will provide outstanding
performance at most all tracks in virtually any weather conditions.
Methanol soluble.
NEW! LC5 Traction Compound
A performance blend that provides optimal traction for competition racing with
an easy to apply formula. Improving traction on both asphalt and concrete surfaces,
LC5 allows you to maintain a treatment routine for a variety of conditions
as it's weather and water-resistant. It can easily be applied by sprayer, but
requires some "cutting" with Methanol (also available from VP) depending on
track temperatures
CHEMICALS
NEW! Two-Groove Traction Compound
A new traction compound specifically designed for asphalt oval tracks, was developed
in response to longstanding problems experienced by many oval tracks
across the country: single groove, ‘follow-the-leader’ style racing. Two-Groove
allows cars to run higher on the track, providing a second and sometimes a
third groove, which leads to more exciting, side-by-side racing.
SLR
SLR is a methanol soluble liquid rosin for starting line upkeep via hand
sprayer. It’s designed for touch-ups that are inevitably required during a weekend
of racing, from bald spots to minor oil or antifreeze drips. Tracks can first
clean these spots with lacquer thinner or MEK like normal, then cover the spot
with SLR and have the track ready to race in literally less than a minute.
