NOTICE OF THE 34 th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 34 th Annual General Meeting of The Institute for Fiscal Studies
will be held at The Institute for Fiscal Studies on Monday 30 June 2003 at 5.30pm.
Ordinary Business
1. To approve the Minutes of the 33 rd Annual General Meeting held on 25 September 2002.
2. Matters arising
3. To receive and consider the Report of the Executive Committee for 2002.
4. To receive, consider and adopt the Financial Statements of the Institute for the year ending 31
December 2002.
5. To re-appoint the Auditors in accordance with the Companies Act 1985 S385. The Auditors
appointed at the last Annual General Meeting PKF have signified their willingness to continue in
office as auditors.
6. To authorise the Executive Committee to fix the remuneration of the Auditors.
7. To appoint a new President of the Institute. Prof Mervyn King is stepping down as IFS President
and the Council proposes that under Article 9.1 Prof John Vickers, Chairman of the Office of Fair
Trading is appointed as the new President of IFS.
8. To elect Members of the Council as follows:
8.1 The following Council Members retire in rotation under Article 12.5 and are nominated for reelection
under Article 12.6. Unless other nominations are received, under Article 13.3, since they are
not more than the number required to be elected, all the candidates shall be deemed and declared by the
Chairman to be elected:
