<strong>NOTICE</strong> <strong>OF</strong> <strong>THE</strong> 34 th <strong>ANNUAL</strong> <strong>GENERAL</strong> <strong>MEETING</strong><br />

<strong>NOTICE</strong> IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 34 th Annual General Meeting of The Institute for Fiscal Studies<br />

will be held at The Institute for Fiscal Studies on Monday 30 June 2003 at 5.30pm.<br />

Ordinary Business<br />

1. To approve the Minutes of the 33 rd Annual General Meeting held on 25 September 2002.<br />

2. Matters arising<br />

3. To receive and consider the Report of the Executive Committee for 2002.<br />

4. To receive, consider and adopt the Financial Statements of the Institute for the year ending 31<br />

December 2002.<br />

5. To re-appoint the Auditors in accordance with the Companies Act 1985 S385. The Auditors<br />

appointed at the last Annual General Meeting PKF have signified their willingness to continue in<br />

office as auditors.<br />

6. To authorise the Executive Committee to fix the remuneration of the Auditors.<br />

7. To appoint a new President of the Institute. Prof Mervyn King is stepping down as IFS President<br />

and the Council proposes that under Article 9.1 Prof John Vickers, Chairman of the Office of Fair<br />

Trading is appointed as the new President of IFS.<br />

8. To elect Members of the Council as follows:<br />

8.1 The following Council Members retire in rotation under Article 12.5 and are nominated for reelection<br />

under Article 12.6. Unless other nominations are received, under Article 13.3, since they are<br />

not more than the number required to be elected, all the candidates shall be deemed and declared by the<br />

a show of hands unless he is representing a corporation. Completion and return of a form of proxy<br />

will not prevent a member from attending the meeting and voting in person if he or she so wishes.<br />
