X-MAS REUNION
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen will reunite with their 50/50 director
Jonathan Levine for an untitled Christmas comedy. Levine also wrote the script in
which three childhood friends get together for their annual Christmas Eve party in
New York City. The third member of the trio has yet to be cast, but that should happen
shortly as shooting starts this summer in the Big Apple.

comedy The Intern. The
pic finds the founder (Hathaway)
of a hot new company taking on an
unlikely intern (Robert De Niro), a
70-year-old former businessman who
thinks he knows everything about
running a company. Production gets
underway this summer.

ON WITH...
AVATAR FRANCHISE
Avatar’s writer/director James Cameron is sharing
updates about his franchise that will ultimately include
four films. Stars Sam Worthington and Zoë Saldana are
back, and all the films will be shot in New Zealand with
the help of Weta Digital. Cameron is currently writing the
scripts and designing new creatures and habitats. The
franchise will expand to include new worlds, and with the
help of advanced software, Cameron promises he can
deliver an Avatar installment in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
DEPP PLAYS
BULGER
He played 1930s gangster
John Dillinger in Public Enemies,
and now Johnny Depp will play
real-life wise guy Whitey Bulger
in Black Mass. The Boston crime
kingpin evaded capture with the
help of childhood pal and FBI
agent John Connolly and spent a
decade on the run before being
apprehended in 2011. He was
just recently imprisoned. Scott
Cooper (Out of the Furnace)
directs and Tom Hardy is
eyeing the Cooper role.
