at Kutztown University
The following guide will point you to several places on KU’s campus where you can find information
about taking the Praxis exams or where you can find practice tools and materials.
Which test should I take?
The Dean’s office for the College of Education should be your first stop when you are ready to take the
Praxis exams because this office has the most current information about which Praxis tests you should
take. Praxis handouts are available outside of the Dean’s office to help you decide which tests you
need to take according to your major. For more information, please see Tanya Faust, COE Secretary.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Check with these handouts prior to registering for each Praxis exam that you
take to be sure that you are registering and studying for the correct test. These sheets will continue to
be updated whenever any test codes change.

Online/Computer-based practice:
KU students have two options for online/computer-based Praxis preparation:
PLATO
PLATO for Praxis is a computer-based program that offers help and practice tests for the Praxis
I tests in Reading, Writing, and Math. You must register in the Tutoring Center in Beekey 122
in order to get access. In addition, the Department of Academic Enrichment offers Praxis I
workshops in the fall and spring semesters. For more information, please contact the

LearningExpressLibrary

Learning Express Library is an online database to test preparation in basic skills and career
advancement. This database includes a wide variety of practice tests, including ones for: civil
service, graduate school entrance, law enforcement, and teacher certification. You must
register as a new user, selecting your own username and password. Upon returning to the site,
you can use that information as a returning user to follow up and continue using your individual
user profile.
E-Books:
The Rohrbach Library now offers two full-text e-books for Praxis preparation for current test codes.
These can be accessed through our subscription to ebrary, which is linked on the Library’s “Articles &

Career Library contains study guides for the Praxis and career-related resources. The Praxis study
materials are available for viewing in 113 Stratton Administration Center. For more information,

Rohrbach Library (HUhttp://www.kutztown.edu/library/UH) – The Curriculum Materials Center in the
library houses books that can help you prepare for the tests. These books contain sample test questions,
strategies, and information about the Praxis. Make sure you are taking the right test FIRST. Some of
our materials have similar names, and you do not want to be preparing for the wrong test.

o On reserve at the Information Commons Desk
o Make sure to check test requirements first. Some information in the 2008 edition is
irrelevant based on current requirements for PA.
