Results<br />

Two major new initiatives for 2008 are the Global Spectrum International<br />

Speaker Series and Integrated <strong>Logistics</strong> and Supply Chain Management course.<br />

GLOBAL SPECTRUM INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER SERIES<br />

Global Spectrum is a high pr<strong>of</strong>ile international speaker series jointly<br />

hosted by the LAA and APICS NSW and APICS Victoria. The Series<br />

will be launched at our Sydney Breakfast Meeting on February<br />

12th, 2008, with international expert Dr John Gattorna presenting on The Living<br />

Supply Chain - mobilising your enterprise around delivering greater value to your<br />

customers.<br />

The second in this series will be presented in Melbourne on February 19th 2008 by<br />

Michael Whiting, Visiting Lecturer in Humanitarian <strong>Logistics</strong> at Cranfield University<br />

and an international humanitarian logistics consultant. Michael is a member <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Cardiff and Cranfield Humanitarian <strong>Logistics</strong> Initiative and the steering committee for<br />

HELP. He will speak on Humanitarian <strong>Logistics</strong> in Disaster Relief – the ultimate senseand-respond<br />

supply chain.<br />

NEW EXECUTIVE COURSES IN LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN<br />

MANAGEMENT<br />

Two new executive education courses will be held at the Macquarie Graduate School<br />

<strong>of</strong> Management (MGSM) in 2008. Each is a three-day program designed for senior<br />

managers involved in the management <strong>of</strong> the supply chain and its key elements.<br />

The Macquarie Supply Chain Executive Program – Designing and managing<br />

contemporary high-performance supply chains, <strong>of</strong>fered by MGSM and led by<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essor John Gattorna, will be held from 13-15 February 2008.<br />

Integrated <strong>Logistics</strong> and Supply Chain Management – Securing supply chain<br />

competitive advantage by optimally managing variability, visibility, velocity, risk and cost.<br />

Jointly supported by CSIRO and the LAA, this course will be held from 28-30 May 2008.<br />

These courses feature international logistics and supply chain experts including<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essor John Bartholdi (Georgia Institute <strong>of</strong> Technology, USA), Pr<strong>of</strong>essor John<br />

Gattorna (author <strong>of</strong> Living Supply Chains) and Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Martin Christopher<br />

(Cranfield University, UK).<br />
