Results
Two major new initiatives for 2008 are the Global Spectrum International
Speaker Series and Integrated Logistics and Supply Chain Management course.
GLOBAL SPECTRUM INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER SERIES
Global Spectrum is a high profile international speaker series jointly
hosted by the LAA and APICS NSW and APICS Victoria. The Series
will be launched at our Sydney Breakfast Meeting on February
12th, 2008, with international expert Dr John Gattorna presenting on The Living
Supply Chain - mobilising your enterprise around delivering greater value to your
customers.
The second in this series will be presented in Melbourne on February 19th 2008 by
Michael Whiting, Visiting Lecturer in Humanitarian Logistics at Cranfield University
and an international humanitarian logistics consultant. Michael is a member of the
Cardiff and Cranfield Humanitarian Logistics Initiative and the steering committee for
HELP. He will speak on Humanitarian Logistics in Disaster Relief – the ultimate senseand-respond
supply chain.

NEW EXECUTIVE COURSES IN LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN
MANAGEMENT
Two new executive education courses will be held at the Macquarie Graduate School
of Management (MGSM) in 2008. Each is a three-day program designed for senior
managers involved in the management of the supply chain and its key elements.
The Macquarie Supply Chain Executive Program – Designing and managing
contemporary high-performance supply chains, offered by MGSM and led by
Professor John Gattorna, will be held from 13-15 February 2008.
Integrated Logistics and Supply Chain Management – Securing supply chain
competitive advantage by optimally managing variability, visibility, velocity, risk and cost.
Jointly supported by CSIRO and the LAA, this course will be held from 28-30 May 2008.
These courses feature international logistics and supply chain experts including
Professor John Bartholdi (Georgia Institute of Technology, USA), Professor John
Gattorna (author of Living Supply Chains) and Professor Martin Christopher
(Cranfield University, UK).
