Application requirement 

With Student Visa 

1. Completed high school education. 

2. Minimum course length is 6 months (20 weeks). 

3. All necessary documents must be submitted to ISI before the 

deadline. 

Without Student Visa 

1. Age 14 years old or older. 

2. Minimum course length for a short-term course is 2 weeks. 

* You need to be able to get a Temporary Visitor’s visa on your own. 

Please check what is required to get it at your local Japanese Embassy. 

Application Procedure 

APPLY 

•Send application documents to ISI 

•Be sure to send documents by EMS, DHL, OCS, FedEx or 

the courier with tracking number. The document must 

reach to ISI before the application deadline.

COE 

•ISI applies Certificate Of Eligibility(COE) for 

applicants.

•ISI will send you confirmation mail and invoice.

Refund Policy 

【Class Fee】 

Enrollment with Student Visa 

ISI will accept cancellation request in writing only. 

1. Application fee 

• Application fee is non-refundable for any reasons. 

• In the event of cancellation after application for COE, application fee will be liable. 

2. Entrance fee, Tuition fee, Materials fee, Facility fee 

Cancellation before visa is issued: 

No refund on entrance fee . Acceptance letter and COE has to be returned to ISI. 

JPY5, 000 will be deducted from the total fees already paid, except for the fees specified the above. 

Cancellation after student visa is issued, but before course starts: 

No refund on entrance fee . Acceptance letter and visa cancellation has to be sent to ISI. 

JPY5, 000 will be deducted from the total fees already paid except for the fees specified the above. 

Cancellation because of visa refusal: 

No refund on entrance fee. Acceptance letter and the copy of visa refusal passport page has to be sent to ISI.

No refund after course begins. 

No refund in case of late participation and halfway kick out 

When the reason for the cancellation would fall under one of the following cases after the course began, a refund shall be granted partially, according 

to the school regulations: 

1) Illness or injury 

2) Death of applicant or a family member, or a relative 

3) School director agrees the cancellation and refund 

Enrollment with Temporary Visiting Visa 

1. Tuition fee, Materials fee and Facility fee 

1.1 For visa exempt countries 

• Cancellation before 2 weeks after the payment: Cancellation charge JPY 20,000 

• Cancellation less than two weeks prior to course starting date: Cancellation charge JPY 40,000 

• Cancellation less than four business days prior to course starting date: No refund. 

1.2 For visa countries 

Cancellation after payment is done, ISI shall refund after deducting cancellation charge stated as below; 

• Before the visa is issued: JPY 25,000 

• After visa is issued: No refund. 

• In case of visa refusal: JPY 15,000 

When the reason for the cancellation would fall under one of the following cases after the course began, refund shall be granted partially, according to 

the school and the accommodation regulations 

1) Illness or injury 

2) Death of applicant or a family member, or a relative 

3) School director agrees the cancellation and refund 

In the event of late participation for more than a week, course extension may be possible. In such a case, prior notice is mandatory. 

In the event of course period shortening, no refund. 

【Optional charge (Accommodation, Airport Pick up)】 

1. Accommodations (Student House, Guest House, Weekly Apartment, Home Stay, ) fee 

Cancellation more than 4 weeks prior to the planned date of immigration: Cancellation charge JPY 10,000 

Cancellation more than 2 weeks prior to the planned date of immigration: Cancellation charge JPY 10,000 + Entrance fee (or Placement fee) 

Cancellation less than 2 weeks prior to the planned date of immigration: 50% of rent fee will be deducted from the total fees. 

Cancellation for visa refusal : Cancellation charge JPY 10,000 

Cancellation after arrival : No refund. 

2. Airport pick up fee 

Cancellation for visa refusal: 100% refund 

Cancellation less than 2 weeks prior to the planned date of immigration: No refund. 

Even if the arrival date is changed , no refund applicable. After confirmation of new flight schedule, apply for new booking. 

【General policy】 

1) Bank charge shall be borne by a student. (No bank charge incurred in case of proceeding refund by Credit Note) 

2) Refund shall be transacted within 40 days after necessary cancellation procedures. 

3) Course starting date is defined as orientation day.
