SB300-007 Crochet Hat and Scarf Set
Scarf measures 5" wide x 56" long. Hat will fit most
women.
RED HEART® "Super Saver®": 4 1/2 Ounces each 330
Linen CA and 794 Bay Print CB.
Crochet Hook: 10mm [US N-15].
Yarn needle.
GAUGE: 8 dc = 4"; 5 rows = 4" in pat with 2 strands held
together. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to
obtain the gauge.
NOTE: Hold one strand each CA and CB together as one
throughout.
SPECIAL ABBREVIATION:
PST (Puff St) = [Yo and draw up a loop] 3 times all in same
st, yo and draw through all 7 loops on hook.
HAT: Ch 5; join with a sl st to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 3, 15 dc in ring; join with a sl st in top of ch-3;
TURN – 16 sts.
Row 1: Ch 3, PST in joining, ch 1, [PST in next dc, ch 1] 14
times, (PST, dc) all in last dc; TURN – 16 PST.
Row 2 (Right Side): Ch 3, dc in first dc, [dc in PST, dc in sp,
dc in PST, 2 dc in sp] 7 times, dc in PST, dc in sp, dc in PST,
2 dc in top of ch-3; turn – 42 sts.
Row 3: Ch 3, PST in first dc, [ch 1, skip next dc, PST in next
dc] 20 times, dc in top of ch-3; turn –21 PST.
Rows 4 and 6: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in each PST and sp
around, dc in top of ch-3; turn – 43 sts.
Rows 5 and 7: Ch 3, skip first dc, PST in next dc, [ch 1, skip
next dc, PST in next dc] 20 times, dc in top of ch-3; turn.
Row 8: Ch 1, sc in each st and sp across and in top of ch-3;
turn.
Row 9: Ch 4, skip first sc, tr in next 2 sc, [2 tr in next sc, tr in
next 2 sc] 13 times, tr in last sc; turn – 56 sts.
Row 10: Ch 1, sc in each tr around and in top of ch-4. Fasten
off. Sew back seam. Weave in ends.
SCARF: Ch 13. Row 1 (Wrong Side): Dc in 4th ch from
hook and in each ch across; turn; 11 sts.
Row 2: Ch 3, skip first dc, PST in next dc, [ch 1, skip next dc,
PST in next dc] 4 times, dc in top of ch-3; turn.
Row 3: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in each PST and sp across and
in top of ch-3; turn.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 until approximately 56" from beg, end row
2. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
