The Occupational Therapy Advisory Committee of the Board of Medical
Licensure and Supervision met on June 5, 2008 in accordance with the Open Meeting
Act. The meeting was held at the office of the Board, 5104 North Francis, Suite C,
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Members present were:
Anne Marie Grassmann, OT, Chairwoman
Maggie Snook, OT
Debra Smart, OTA
Janet Schaffner, Consumer Member
Members absent were:
Ginger Castleberry, OT, Vice Chair
Others present included:
Robyn Hall, Director of Licensing
Kathy Plant, Executive Secretary
Patricia Podolec, Assistant Attorney General
Margaret Roseboom, OT, representing OOTA
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. The first item of business was
approval of the minutes from the January 24, 2008 Committee meeting. Ms. Snook
moved to approve the minutes. Ms. Smart seconded the motion and the vote was
unanimous in the affirmative.
RANDY G. PAINTER appeared in support of his application for reinstatement
of Occupational Therapist licensure. Mr. Painter’s license had expired in October 2006.
Mr. Painter testified regarding reasons for letting his license expire, his activities since
2006 and his continuing education efforts. He presented nine hours of continuing
education. Ms. Snook moved to recommend approval of the application pending
satisfactory completion of 31 hours of continuing education. Ms. Schaffner seconded
the motion and the vote was unanimous in the affirmative.
VERNELL ELIZABETH CAPERS appeared in support of her application for
Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure. Ms. Capers had last practiced as an
Occupational Therapy Assistant in 2003. After review of the application, Ms. Snook
moved to recommend approval of the application pending satisfactory completion of 70
hours of continuing education and two months of practice under direct supervision, to

e completed within the next year. Ms. Smart seconded the motion and the vote was
unanimous in the affirmative.
LINETTE SUE ANLIKER-TRESLER appeared in support of her application for
reinstatement of Occupational Therapist licensure. Ms. Anliker-Tresler testified
regarding her activities since her license expired in 2005. After reviewing the
application, Ms. Smart moved to recommend approval pending satisfactory completion
of 62 hours of continuing education and one month of practice under direct supervision,
to be completed within one year. Ms. Schafnner seconded the motion and the vote was
unanimous in the affirmative.
SARA VINZANT KLEPPER appeared in support of her application for
Occupational Therapist licensure. Ms. Klepper’s last practice as an Occupational
Therapist was in 2000. Ms. Klepper testified regarding her activities since that time.
Ms. Smart moved to recommend approval of the application pending satisfactory
completion of 120 hours of continuing education and three months of practice under
direct supervision, to be completed within one year. Ms. Schaffner seconded the
motion and the vote was unanimous in the affirmative.
The Committee reviewed requests for pre-approval of continuing education
courses and a list of recommendations from the Continuing Education Subcommittee.
Courses and their approved hours are listed in attachment #1.
The application of GLENA KAY MACKEY for reinstatement of Occupational
Therapist licensure was reviewed. Ms. Snook moved to recommend approval of the
application. Ms. Smart seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in the
affirmative.
Applications for licensure and reinstatement of licensure were reviewed. Ms.
Grassmann moved to recommend approval of the following applications for licensure
as Occupational Therapists. Ms. Smart seconded the motion and the vote was
unanimous in the affirmative.
