Additional notes:
1. These three songs were part of the showcase set performed by Simmons, Stanley, and
Criss for Epic A&R man Don Ellis at the loft in November 1972. Since the band was still
nominally Wicked Lester, and not yet KISS, they’re given their first official “KISS”
performance dates at KISS’ first show...
2. As the band transitioned into being KISS several Wicked Lester songs survived. None
of these songs would last through 1973...
3. These songs had all been performed live by Wicked Lester in 1971. “Let Me Know”
was then titled “Sunday Driver” and “Goin’ Blind” was “Little Lady.” “Stanley The
Parrot” was also performed, but since it is so different to the later “Strutter” it is not
included here.
4. “Acrobat” versus “Love Theme From KISS.” “Acrobat” was performed in its entirety
in the clubs, while the shortened component part “Love Theme From KISS,” included on
the debut album, was performed at several shows in 1974 as was the full “Acrobat.” As a
result of this technicality, “Love Theme From KISS” is noted as first being performed in
1973 as part of “Acrobat.”
