Oxford Journals - 2006 Institutional Price List Information
Our institutional customers will continue to have three choices when subscribing in 2006:
1. Print With Online Subscription - A standard institutional subscription includes a combined print
subscription with site-wide online access to the title.
2. Online-only Institutional Subscription - Site-wide online-only access is available at a 10%
discount off the standard institutional subscription rate.
3. Print-only Institutional Subscription - Print-only subscriptions are available at a 5% discount off
the standard institutional subscription rate.

The Oxford Journals Archives
Oxford Journals is scanning older back issues of their journals so
that they can be made available electronically. The issues are being
compiled into subject-based digital backfiles which are available to
institutions for outright purchase or subscription. The archives
contain the content of each journal from Volume 1, Issue 1 up until
the end of 1995. Search facilities are fully integrated with recent
content, making it easy to track trends and explore the foundations
of current knowledge. It also provides you with the opportunity to
fill gaps in your collection whilst saving valuable shelf space and
staff time.
The Complete Archive includes all journals in the subject-based archives
(with no duplication of content), and will be available from January 2006.
The Humanities Archive is the first in the series of digital backfiles to be
launched and will be available from July 2005.

Other News
Oxford Open – a new open
access initiative
Oxford Journals has announced its
latest ‘Open Access’ (OA) project,
Oxford Open. Commencing July
2005, it will offer an optional
author-pays model to authors of
accepted papers across a range of
Oxford Journals titles.
Oxford Open will give published
authors, in participating Oxford
Journals titles, the option to pay for
research articles to be made freely
available online immediately on
publication. Discounted author
charges will be available to
authors from institutions that
maintain a current online
subscription, and authors from
developing countries will also be
eligible for discounted rates.
The online subscription prices of
participating journals will be
adjusted for 2007 and subsequent
years, according to how much
content was paid for by authors
and thus freely available online
during the previous year.

Web Redesign project
The redesign project will result in
more streamlined access to our
information and services. This will
be released in several phases,
beginning with a change to our
domain name, and following with
the new-look website design later
in the year.
Our domain name changed from
www.oupjournals.org to
www.oxfordjournals.org on 1st
June 2005. This will affect all
Oxford Journal specific pages at
HighWire Press, and all Oxford
Journals information pages.
Redirects will be in place for the
foreseeable future, but you may
implement updates to any linking to
our journal content from now on.
We will keep you informed of any
further changes to the directory
structure via our librarians email
list, to which you can sign up at
www.oxfordjournals.org/librarians.
Nucleic Acids Research
Nucleic Acids Research (NAR) will
continue with its full 'Open Access'
(OA) publishing model, but with
some changes in 2006. The online
edition will be completely free of
charge and will be funded by
institutional memberships, print
subscriptions, and author charges.
Customers will continue to require
a subscription to receive NAR in
print and we have held the 2005
rates for a subscription in 2006.

Institutional membership:
(£1500 / $2700 / €2250 ). NAR
institutional membership secures
substantially-discounted publication
charges for corresponding authors
based at the member institution. A
print subscription is not included in
institutional membership. Multi-site
memberships are also available.
Print subscription:
(Held at 2005 rates for 2006 -
£1652/ $2855 / €2478). Institutions
will require a print subscription in
order to continue to receive print
copies of NAR. The 2006
institutional print subscription will
now include 22 print issues of the
journal. Two additional special
issues - the Database and
WebServer issues - will be freely
available online, or available for
purchase separately as single print
issues.
Please note that Institutional
Membership is not included in a
print subscription in 2006 and must
be purchased separately.
