The purpose is to promote the development and provision of supportive housing and/or supportive services with the goal of helping homeless Veterans achieve residential stability, increase their skill levels and/or income, and obtain greater self-determination. Eligible members must have a direct and immediate financial need as a result of military service. The amount of a grant is based on documented financial need up to a maximum of $3,500. FEDERAL PROGRAMS UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY Grant info: http://www.epa.gov/epahome/grants.htm GRANT/PROGRAM Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG) (CFDA No. 15.622) – The BIG provides grant funds to the states, the District of Columbia and insular areas to construct, renovate, and maintain tie-up facilities with features for transient boaters in vessels 26 feet or more in length, and to produce and distribute information and educational materials about the program. The BIG Program includes two funding tiers, Tier One (noncompetitive) and Tier Two (nationally competitive). Under Tier One each state, the D.C. and insular area may receive funding for eligible projects up to $100,000 annually. Tier Two funds are made available through a nationally competitive process. To facilitate the leveraging of public resources, EPA’s Brownfields Program collaborates with other EPA programs, other federal partners, and state agencies to identify and make available resources that can be used for brownfields activities. In addition to direct brownfields funding, EPA also provides technical information on brownfields financing matters. Community Action for a Renewed Environment (CARE) (CFDA No. 66.035) – CARE is a competitive grant program that offers an innovative way for a community to organize and take action to reduce toxic pollution in its local environment. Through CARE, a community creates a partnership that implements solutions to reduce releases of toxic pollutants and minimize people’s exposure to them. By providing financial and technical assistance, EPA helps CARE communities get on the path to a renewed environment.
