Panama City Beach Pirates
The Panama City Beach Pirates joined
the United Soccer League (USL)
family in November 2011 as part of
the Southeast Division, within the 73 teams
that make up the Premier Development
League (PDL) throughout the United States,
Canada, Bermuda. Owners Eehab Kenawy,
M.D., Jill Holt and Amy Dalton want to bring
a high level of soccer to Panama City Beach
to promote and grow the international game of
soccer within our community and Northwest
Florida.
The PDL is a training ground for the best players
in the country including NCAA & NAIA
College players as well as foreign players who
are looking to play at the next level of soccer.
The PDL is used as a stepping stone for many
talented young men who aspire to play on a
USL Pro or Major League Soccer team.
The Panama City Beach Pirates will play a
total of 16 games over the summer against
teams from across Florida and Mississippi.
They also have a possibility to play in the PDL
Championship and US Open Cup where they
will be matched against teams from the Major
League Soccer , challenging themselves to the
highest level of soccer in the country.
All games will be played at Mike Gavlak Stadium
(Arnold High School) in Panama City
Beach. The Pirates season runs from May to
July with 8 home games and an anticipated
attendance of 500-700 people per game this
first season.
The Panama City Beach Pirates PDL Franchise
and it’s programs will provide numerous
opportunities to players of all ages through
camps, clinics, tournaments and special
events throughout the season and off season.
The opportunities that the USL and PDL offer
our community are unmatched in Northwest
Florida and the Southeast, as we are the only
PDL Franchise within a 5 hour drive giving us
the exclusive benefits of such a high level of
soccer and programs to assist our youth and
the development of youth soccer.
