Choosing the right air conditioner
It is important that the unit you choose is the correct size for the
space that it will be required to cool. If the size is too big the
air conditioner will continuously be shutting on and off as it will
cool the room too quickly; conversely if the unit size is too small
it will run continuously without properly cooling the room. This
will use up a lot of energy meaning higher than necessary electric
bills. In addition the air conditioner will not be able to dehumidify
the air in the room effectively leaving it cold and clammy. For
these reasons we suggest having the correct measurements on
hand for choosing the right air conditioner. Simply follow the
below instruction for ease of reference :
1. Measure the room. (Length x Width = area in square meter)
2. Match the room size to BTUs. See chart below
Adjust your BTU size for the following circumstances :
1. If the room is heavily shaded, reduce capacity by 10%
2. If the room is very sunny, increase capacity by 10 %
3. If more than two people regularly occupy the room, add 600
BTUs for each additional person.
. If the unit is used in a kitchen, increase capacity by 000 BTUs.
We always recommend that you consult a Whirlpool professional
