3.5 That despite 13,000 people being killed, the 10 year civil war came to an end in 2006.<br />

3.6 <strong>Nepal</strong> has failed to make a new Constitution through the Constituent Assembly<br />

despite an attempt <strong>for</strong> four years by the last elected Constituent Assembly.<br />

However, after months <strong>of</strong> political stalemate the country is now going <strong>for</strong> another<br />

fresh election <strong>for</strong> next Constituent Assembly and the peace process continues to<br />

progress.<br />

3.7 <strong>The</strong>re are fewer deaths and crime news in the national daily news compared to in<br />

the past.<br />

3.8 <strong>Nepal</strong>i <strong>Church</strong>es are uniting in prayer <strong>for</strong> the nation and the prayer movement in<br />

<strong>Nepal</strong> has been increasing every year.<br />

3.9 Although persecutions are still the reality, until now there is liberty to worship and<br />

share the Gospel in <strong>Nepal</strong>.<br />

WEEK 3 (21 st – 27 th APRIL)<br />

4. PRAYER FOR THE NATION (1 TIMOTHY 2:1-4, 2 CHRONICLES 7:14)<br />

4.1 For the political consensus on major and core issues affecting the successful<br />

completion <strong>of</strong> the peace process, and the writing and implementation <strong>of</strong> the new<br />

constitution.<br />

4.2 For the establishment <strong>of</strong> sustainable peace and stability, as well as good government<br />

and righteous rulers and bureaucracy full <strong>of</strong> integrity.<br />

4.3 For the country’s President, Vice President, Prime Minister, cabinet ministers,<br />

Constituent Assembly members due to be freshly elected, judiciary, defense<br />

department, civil society - that they can work together in unity <strong>for</strong> the benefit <strong>of</strong> the<br />

nation and the people <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nepal</strong>.<br />

4.4 That Political instability, violence, crime, impunity and corruption come to an end.<br />

WEEK 4 (28 th APRIL- 4 th MAY)<br />

5. PRAYER FOR THE SOCIAL PROBLEMS (ISAIAH 58:5-9, MATH 25:31-40)<br />

5.1 For an end to injustice, oppression and poverty.<br />

5.2 For the proper rehabilitation <strong>of</strong> the victims <strong>of</strong> the conflict and also natural<br />

disasters. <strong>Pray</strong> that God would intervene in such natural calamities.<br />

5.3 For <strong>Nepal</strong>i young people to avoid drug-addiction and be engaged in productive<br />

activities, and <strong>for</strong> the Government <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nepal</strong> to create more and more employment<br />

opportunities <strong>for</strong> them.<br />

5.4 Against the trafficking <strong>of</strong> women and children.<br />

5.5 <strong>Pray</strong> <strong>for</strong> God’s intervention and control against abortion and abortion law in <strong>Nepal</strong>.<br />

5.6 For the organizations working to overcome poverty and injustice in the country.
