Babies in Playland
Ages 0 to 12 months
This program will focus on babies and their early development.
It will provide families and caregivers with learning
opportunities on infant development through social and
interactive play.
Infant and Toddler Time
Ages 0 to 30 months
This program focuses on early development through social and
interactive play. The program will include creative, sensory
activities, songs and rhymes, and motor skills.
**School Readiness Programs**
Ages 3 to 5 years
Please see back of the calendar for programs, days and
registration information.
Ages 0 to 6 years

Creative Movement
This program offers a variety of activities such as finger-plays,
songs, and musical games. This encourages listening skills,
speech and language development, large and small motor
skills.
Family Time
Family Time is for parents, caregivers and their children to
meet others and play interactively in an early learning
environment. The program will include creative, sensory,
stories, rhymes, music, language and math activities.
Me and Dad
This program is for dads, uncles and grandfathers to have a
special fun time with their children. This program will include
activities such as creative, sensory, music, stories, language,
math and gross motor activities.
Open Door
Come and explore our centre and the many services and
resources available to you. Families are welcome to come in
and play with their children.
Tell Me a Story
This program will focus on a variety of story telling methods:
traditional story telling, sing-able stories, story telling with
props and reading from a book. There will also be creative,
sensory, language and gross motor activities.
D.E.A.M Time” – Drop Everything And Move!
CAUTION: This can happen at anytime during the program! Be prepared to have fun!

A preschool consultant is available to discuss your questions and concerns
regarding your child’s behaviour.

**Region of Peel - Literacy Specialist Visit**
Thursday, January 10 th , 2008
(During the Family Time Program)
Language and literacy development is the process of learning to listen, use
body language, speak, read and write. We have a Literacy Specialist who
comes on a monthly basis to visit one of our programs. She participates in
the program activities and in circle time.
**Parent-Child Infant Mother Goose Program**
Tues., January 8, 15, 22, 29 and February, 5, 12/08
This 6-week program is a group experience for parents and their babies,
focusing on the pleasure and power of using rhymes, songs, and stories
together.
Ages: 0 to 12 months
Times: 1:30pm to 2:30pm

**Peel Infant Development Visit**
Monday, December 14 th , 2008
9:30am to12:00noon
Peel Infant Development is a community-based agency affiliated with
Trillium Health Centre. Peel Infant Development works with families and
their children (birth to 6 years) in early identification of developmental
concerns.

**Make the Connection**
A Parenting Program for Toddlers
Friday, Jan., 11, 18, 25 and Feb., 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and Mar., 7/08
This is an interactive parenting program being offered for 9 weeks. The
program promotes ways to strengthen the parent child relationship at a
time when your toddler starts seeking autonomy. Parents will learn to deal
with challenges such as, separation anxiety, the emergence of “No”,
Tantrums and much more.
Ages: 12 to 24 months
Dates: Friday
Time: 9:30am to 11:00am

**Science**

Description: Through science, children learn to observe, question,
explore, experiment, predict and solve problems. We will explore science
activities through hands-on experiments, observations and discussions.
Ages: 3 to 5 years
Dates: Wednesday
Time: 1:30pm to 3:30pm

**Car Seat Safety Clinic** - Presented by Public Health
Thursday, January 17 th – at 1:30pm
Learn how to install your car seat properly and its proper use. Registration
required. Space is limited to 15.
