Jung Topology Test Analysis
A. Discuss basic differences between a Career and a Job.
Some of the differences between a career and a job are that a career is something
that you develop by going to college and study something that you like or love to
do. A career is a profession and it provides experience to fuel your future. A job is
something you do simply to earn money and it also minimal impact on your future
work life a career choice is a very important decision because is something that
you’ll be investing money on and is something that you’ll find yourself doing for a
long period of time.
B. Explain the motivational factors that may influence a person’s career choice.
Some motivation factors that may influence a person’s career choice are that they may
really like the career because they enjoy doing it and is something that they are
interesting in which is a intrinsic motivation. Then we have the extrinsic motivation
that it may influence a person’s career choice because people may be giving them
opinions about what he should go for and what they believe is the best for them. Also
the money can influence someone is career choice because they may want to get pay
really good.
C. Question:
‣ What do you believe to be your passion?
I believe my passion is knowledge. I love to learn new things and just know
things in general.
‣ What would you do if you knew that you would most likely (at the very
best) be compensated moderately?
I would do what I love to do because I would enjoy doing it.
‣ What type of work would you absolutely refuse to do under any
circumstances? I wouldn’t like to work as a teacher.
D. Analyze the information from the career and the personality assessment.
‣ Three suggested careers from the Career Choices page:
1. Law
2. Entrepreneurship
3. Engineering
‣ Three suggested careers from the Career Inventory Test Results page:
1. Researcher
2. Strategist
3. Military intelligence
‣ Some of the careers listed here are pretty interesting and they defiantly got my
attention like for example military intelligence it sounds really interesting for
me and it does involve what I like to do so does researcher, strategist and law.
Those are the ones I found to be the ones I’m interest in. the personality type
really identified me because it describe very well how I am and how I’ll handle
different situations.
E. Examine the information regarding the personality type description.
My personality is described as an INTJ:
INTJs are perfectionists, with a seemingly endless capacity for improving upon
anything that takes their interest.
INTJs are known as the “Systems Builders” of the types, perhaps in part
because they possess the unusual trait combination of imagination and
reliability.
INTJs tend to be scrupulous and even-handed about recognizing the individual
contributions that have gone into a project, and have a gift for seizing
opportunities which others might not even notice.
INTJs are capable of caring deeply for others and are willing to spend a great
deal of time and effort on a relationship, the knowledge and self-confidence
that make them so successful in other areas can suddenly abandon or mislead
them in interpersonal situations.
INTJs tend to have little patience and less understanding of such things as
small talk and flirtation.
INTJs are usually extremely private people, and can often be naturally
impassive as well, which makes them easy to misread and misunderstand.
INTJs strongest assets in the interpersonal area are their intuitive abilities and
their willingness to “work at” a relationship.
F. Two people that were listed and said to be identified with your personality type.
Susan B. Anthony
o Susan B. Anthony was born February 15, 1820 in Adams,
Massachusetts. She was brought up in a Quaker family with long
activist traditions. Early in her life she developed a sense of justice and
moral zeal. She joined the women's rights movement in 1852. Soon
after, she dedicated her life to woman suffrage. Anthony, who never
married, was aggressive and compassionate by nature. She had a keen
mind and a great ability to inspire. She remained active until her death
on March 13, 1906.
o I’m agreeing with this grouping to my personality type because she is
an example of a strong independent women and that’s exactly what I’m
looking forward to be.
Phillip John "Phil" Donahue
o He was born on December 21, 193. He is an American media
personality, writer, and film producer best known as the creator and
host of The Phil Donahue Show. The television program, also
known as Donahue, was the first talk show format that included
audience participation. His shows have often focused on issues that
divide liberals and conservatives in the United States, such as
abortion, consumer protection, civil rights and war issues. He also
made interviews of really important people like presidential
candidate John F. Kennedy.
o I’m disagreeing with him being grouping o my personality type
because I don’t see anything in common with him or what he does.
G. Career Application
An understanding of personality types can be really important and can help to decide
which career could be the best for the person because with the personality and the
things they like to do they would know what career can be best for them and that
would make it easier for them to know what would be the best career for them.
