System (EMS) for monitoring, configuration, and management of<br />

Embedded in the <strong>DigiLink</strong> chassis and all its elements, it requires<br />
no external software or add-ins to monitor and configure all active<br />

The DLC055 provides flexible video inputs and outputs as well as<br />
distribution amplifier capabilities to <strong>DigiLink</strong>.<br />
A DLC055 supports five independent inputs to the DLX001 crosspoint module as well<br />
as five outputs for each of twelve function slots in a DL4360x chassis. Each port is<br />
independent, supporting all standard video formats from 3G-SDI to ATSC. To ensure video<br />
quality and integrity all outputs are re-clocked.<br />
The DLC055 provides increased flexibility to the DL4360x by enabling inputs to be<br />
distributed to multiple modules in the chassis for separate compression, multiplexing, and<br />
transport. The five HD-BNC outputs are connected directly to the switch providing dozens<br />
of re-clocked electrical outputs for DA applications.<br />

The DLC103 is a flexible, cost-effective, bi-directional fiber optic<br />
transport module for all digital video formats ranging from 19.39<br />
Mb/s to 2.97 Gb/s. The module is user configurable to function as a<br />
transmitter, receiver, transceiver, repeater, or 4-channel distribution<br />
amplifier.<br />
The DLC103 can be deployed in all <strong>DigiLink</strong> chassis. Optics are externally accessible<br />
transceiver SFPs in 1310 nm, 1550 nm, and 18 CWDM wavelengths. All of these<br />
features add up to make the DLC103 the most flexible, easy-to-deploy, and reliable<br />
single channel digital video optical transport module ever developed.<br />

The DLC105 provides flexible media access to <strong>DigiLink</strong> chassis for<br />
routing, transport, and DA applications.<br />
The DLC105 features five bi-directional SFP cages for use as a media access point to the<br />
<strong>DigiLink</strong> chassis. These SFPs can be populated to support up to 5 video inputs and 5 video<br />
outputs, 5 HDMI ports, or any combination of each. The module can be deployed in the<br />
<strong>DigiLink</strong> chassis to create a flexible 60x60 optical and electrical video router or for DA<br />
applications, or combinations for both. Combining the DLC105 with transport and format<br />
conversion modules in the <strong>DigiLink</strong> chassis creates a cost and space effective solution for<br />
transport centric processing and routing of broadcast quality video signals.<br />

The DLC150E is a flexible audio embedder and video transport card<br />
designed for use in the <strong>DigiLink</strong> video transport system. The DLC150E<br />
will embed analog or AES audio into SDI and SDTI as well as transport all<br />
standard 270Mb/s digital formats.<br />
The DLC150E functions as both an audio embedder for four channel analog or two<br />
stereo pairs AES-3 audio, and as a 270Mb/s video over fiber optics transport module.<br />
The DLC150E uses industry standard 1310nm, 1550nm, and CWDM Small Form-Factor<br />
Pluggable (SFP) optics. Provisioning and monitoring is accomplished using switches, LEDs,<br />
front monitor jack, SNMP, or HTTP via <strong>DigiLink</strong> Manager.<br />

The DLC156 is an innovative, six channel TDM multiplexer for<br />
transporting uncompressed and compressed video over dark fiber or<br />
managed optical networks such as ROADM and OTN. Users can mix and<br />
match SD-SDI, ASI, HD-SDI, or 3G-SDI services into a single 10.7 Gb/s<br />
optical transport stream.<br />
The DLC156 is a space efficient, cost-effective module for transporting up<br />
to six HD-SDI or three 3G-SDI digital video services over a single optical wavelength,<br />
saving fiber cost and simplifying network design and deployment. Using time division<br />
multiplexing (TDM), each channel is assigned a fixed time-slot, eliminating complex<br />
configurations. Six independent, mixed format video signals are aggregated to a<br />
single wavelength and two time slots can be combined to carry 3G-SDI.<br />
The DLC156 supports links in excess of 80 km using industry standard, hot<br />
swappable 10G XFP transceivers in WDM, CWDM, and DWDM wavelengths. Installing<br />
a DLC156 repeater between the link source and destination extends the range of<br />
a link. Up to 240 uncompressed HD channels are possible over a single fiber. For<br />
additional flexibility, the DLC156 can also be used as a transport aggregator for<br />
Artel’s DLC274 four-channel TDM module supporting as many as 960 270 Mb/s video<br />
services over a single fiber.<br />
With its format flexibility, easy configuration, and competitive price, the DLC156 is<br />

The DLC170AD converts analog video and audio to SDI (SMPTE 259M)<br />
and provides optical transport. Used with the DLC170DA, the design<br />
insures full TV-1 RS250-C “short haul” analog performance over a true<br />
SMPTE 259M SD-SDI optical transport link.<br />
The DLC170AD uses advanced high performance 12-bit video processing with adaptive<br />
3D comb filters to convert NTSC-M /PAL-B/G analog composite video to ITU-R BT.601/656<br />
compliant, 525 or 625 line, 4:2:2 component digital video. Four channels of analog<br />
audio are converted to 24-bit digital signals and sampled at 48 kHz and then embedded<br />
into the digital video per SMPTE 272M for a total of 4 analog channels. The audio can be<br />
inserted into any one of the four groups.<br />
Using the backplane to provide jumper free connections, additional audio channel<br />
groups can be added by cascading the DLC170AD digital output to one or more DLC150E<br />
audio embedders. An SFP installed into the final module provides the optical output of<br />
the combined signals.<br />
A front panel monitor jack can be selected to output either analog or digital video. When<br />
set to analog, the incoming analog video can be checked for signal level and quality<br />
using conventional analog video equipment. When set to digital, the converted video<br />
in 270Mb/s SDI format with embedded audio can be checked using digital video test<br />
equipment.<br />

The DLC170DA converts optically received SDI to composite analog<br />
video (NTSC or PAL) and analog or AES audio. Used with the DLC170AD,<br />
the design insures full TV-1 RS250-C “short haul” analog performance<br />
over a true SMPTE 259M SD-SDI optical transport link. Additionally,<br />
it can be used as an optical receiver for all digital signals from 19.39<br />
ATSC to 1.485Gb/s HD-SDI making the DLC170DA ideal for the eventual<br />
conversion from analog to digital video transport.<br />
The innovative module uses advanced video and audio processing for exceptional quality<br />
conversion of SDI (SMPTE 259M) to composite video and analog audio. It accepts a<br />
270Mb/s 525/625 line SDI input from either the optical SFP receiver or the backplane, then<br />
converts it to composite analog and audio signals.<br />
The received optical signal can be directed to the backplane for additional channel<br />
groups to be processed by other cards in the <strong>DigiLink</strong> chassis. Audio embedded per<br />
SMPTE 272M levels A, B, and C can be extracted as either four balanced analog audio<br />
channels or two stereo AES digital audio streams.<br />
A front panel video monitor with analog or digital selector switch allows the incoming<br />
digital (with embedded audio) or composite analog output to be monitored using conventional<br />
digital/analog video equipment.<br />

The DLC205 is a flexible, Ethernet aggregator supporting up to 9 ports<br />
of 10/100/1000 traffic with optical connectivity.<br />
The innovative design of the DLC205 enables users to aggregate 9 channels, 5 external<br />
and 4 internal, of 10/100/1000 Ethernet traffic for transport across electrical or optical<br />
networks, all in a low cost, single slot <strong>DigiLink</strong> module. The module is fully nonblocking<br />
with a total capacity of 18 Gigabits of traffic and each port independently supports<br />
10/100/1000 Ethernet. The four internal ports can be linked to other modules in a <strong>DigiLink</strong><br />
chassis to provide internal Ethernet connectivity eliminating the need of external cabling.<br />
Unlike more complicated designs that require dedicated trunking modules and switching<br />
matrixes, the DLC205 is a simple Ethernet aggregator compatible with all <strong>DigiLink</strong> chassis<br />

The DLC274 utilizes Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) to combine four<br />
independent 270Mb/s video signals into one optical channel.<br />
The DLC274M and DLC274D provide a space efficient and cost-effective method of<br />
transporting up to four 270Mb/s digital video services over a single optical wavelength.<br />
Services can be any combination of 270Mb/s video signals including SDI, SDTI, and<br />
DVB-ASI. Optical regeneration or repeating is accomplished using the DLC274D which<br />
includes drop and continue capabilities, DLC103, DLC300, or any other system capable<br />
of repeating a 1.485Gb/s signal. Using industry standard 1310nm, 1550nm, CWDM, or<br />
DWDM Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) optics the DLC274 enables<br />

The DLC300 is a flexible fiber optic transport module for all digital video<br />
formats from 19.39Mb/s (ATSC) to 2.97Gb/s (3G-SDI). The DLC300 is a<br />
single-module, user configurable to function as a transmitter, receiver,<br />
or repeater, and supports route diversity as well as ATSC to DVB-ASI<br />
conversion.<br />
The DLC300 incorporates numerous features in a flexible, easy-to-deploy and<br />
configure module with unparalleled quality and reliability. The module optically<br />
transports all digital formats from 19.39Mb/s ATSC to 3G-SDI (SMPTE 424M).<br />
To minimize inventory costs and simplify deployment, it can be configured as a<br />
receiver, transmitter, or repeater. For route diversity and optical flexibility the DLC300<br />
also features dual optical SFP modules available in WDM, CWDM, or DWDM optical<br />
wavelengths. To transport across metro optical amplified networks, dithering of all SDI<br />
formats has been included, as well as conversion from SMPTE 310M to DVB-ASI.<br />

The DLC410 expands the <strong>DigiLink</strong> video platform capabilities to include<br />
SMPTE standards-based Video-Over-IP transport for both DVB-ASI and<br />
SD-SDI formats. The module is capable of transporting four channels<br />
(two in each direction) of DVB-ASI or SD-SDI over a gigabit Ethernet IP<br />
network connection.<br />
Based on SMPTE 2022 standards for encapsulation and Forward Error Correction (FEC),<br />
the DLC410 enables SDI and ASI to be reliably transported across managed IP networks.<br />
Two independent video channels in each direction can be transported over a single Gig-E<br />
connection. SDI video is transported in its entirety, including all ancillary data. ASI video<br />
streams from less than 20 Mb/s to over 200 Mb/s are supported and can be rate limited.<br />
The DLC410 FEC enables the recovery of lost, errored, or delayed IP packets and<br />
can withstand burst outages in excess of 3 mS. Access to the IP network is through<br />
rear accessible field replaceable SFPs either optically in WDM, CWDM , and DWDM<br />
wavelengths or electrically via an RJ-45 SFP.<br />

algorithms to ensure reliable, error-free transport and compliance with<br />
industry standards.<br />
The DLC450 is a cost effective <strong>DigiLink</strong> compatible module enabling a single channel<br />
of uncompressed HD-SDI (SMPTE 292M) to be transported over a managed Ethernet<br />
network.<br />
Integrating seamlessly within the <strong>DigiLink</strong> platform, the DLC450 is customer configurable<br />
via <strong>DigiLink</strong> Manager or via SNMPv2 as either a transmitter or receiver. In transmitter<br />
mode, the DLC450 packetizes the video to SMPTE 2022-6 encapsulation standard and<br />
provides users with flexible SMPTE 2022-5 FEC configurations to maximize reliability and<br />
minimize latency and overhead. In receiver mode, its robust multi-pass FEC correction<br />
algorithm and user configurable packet buffering enable reliable performance over<br />
less than ideal Ethernet links. The DLC450 sets the bar for reliable, low cost, and easy to<br />

The DLC610 is a low cost <strong>DigiLink</strong> based module enabling a single HD-<br />
SDI signal to be compressed via JPEG2000 then encapsulated into DVB-<br />
ASI including Audio and Ancillary data for transport across DVB- ASI<br />
compatible networks.<br />
The DLC610 module is a user programmable JPEG2000 encoder or decoder featuring low<br />
latency with industry standard ASI encapsulation. It is an ideal solution for transporting<br />
high quality HD-SDI signals across DVB-ASI compatible networks. The DLC610 utilizes the<br />
IntoPix® compression core to compress HD-SDI into an 80 to 180Mb/s JPEG2000 video<br />
codestream and then, encapsulated with all audio and ancillary data, into DVB-ASI per<br />
industry standards. The resulting DVB-ASI stream is now ready to be transported via fiber<br />
links, Gig-E, and/or optical networks for decoding and delivery using another DLC610 or<br />
other industry standard JPEG2000 decoders.<br />
The flexible design enables the DLC610 to be used as a low-cost standalone solution<br />
for integration into industry standard ASI equipment, or work in the highly integrated<br />
<strong>DigiLink</strong> platform with its internal routing of video and Ethernet traffic for transport,<br />
trunking, and distribution.<br />

The DLM205 combines a 9 port non-blocking Ethernet switch and<br />
aggregator with DL4000 chassis management capabilities.<br />
The innovative design of the DLM205 enables users to manage and monitor DL4000<br />
chassis as well as aggregate 9 channels, 5 external and 4 internal, of 10/100/1000 Ethernet<br />
traffic for transport across electrical or optical networks, all in a low cost, single slot<br />
<strong>DigiLink</strong> module. The module is fully non-blocking with a total capacity of 18 Gigabits<br />
of traffic plus chassis management and each port independently supports 10/100/1000<br />
Ethernet. The four internal ports can be linked to other modules in a <strong>DigiLink</strong> chassis to<br />
provide internal Ethernet connectivity eliminating the need of external cabling.<br />
Unlike more complicated designs that require dedicated trunking modules and switching<br />
matrixes, the DLM205 is a simple Ethernet aggregator compatible with all <strong>DigiLink</strong> chassis.<br />
When used in a DL4000 chassis an additional channel is enabled that includes capabilities<br />
to manage, monitor, configure a chassis via <strong>DigiLink</strong> Manager HTTP browser based EMS<br />
or SNMP. The DLM205 provides a simple, reliable, and low cost solution for transporting<br />
video centric traffic and chassis management across Ethernet networks.<br />

Artel’s DLT710 is an innovative, <strong>DigiLink</strong> based module for simple,<br />
automatic link verification of serial digital video formats. The singlemodule<br />
functions as both a signal generator and test monitor for<br />
3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI, DVB-ASI, and ATSC and is ideal for automatic<br />
verification of single or multi-format video links.<br />
A universal digital video link test and verification module, the DLT710 provides complete,<br />
one-touch “go-no-go” performance testing for all common video rates and formats. Its<br />
unique design allows for one or more formats to be selected simultaneously enabling<br />
automatic verification of multi-format video links.<br />
As a test signal generator, the DLT710 outputs a continuous video signal of a single<br />
selected format or a timed sequence through each selected format. When configured as<br />
a monitor for a single format it will continuously monitor live digital video and indicate<br />
rate and physical layer signal quality. With more than one format selected, the module<br />
automatically verifies each rate has been received. With this unique multi-purpose<br />
module, verification of a multi-service video link can be performed in less than five<br />
