PFL Anti-Vap Film
PFL Anti-Vap Film is an evaporation retardant and finishing aid specifically formulated for
integrally coloured concrete.
Description:
PFL Anti-Vap Film retards moisture evaporation from the concrete surface and acts as a finishing aid for
concrete flatwork. It is recommended that PFL Anti-Vap is used in all applications where a superior finish
is required on concrete flatwork, and to protect concrete from the effects of excessive moisture loss in rapid
drying conditions. PFL Anti-Vap Film reduces plastic shrinkage cracking in fresh concrete by slowing the
evaporation rate of bleed water. It also acts as an excellent finishing aid for extra smooth and durable
concrete floors. PFL Anti-Vap Film is also excellent in the finishing of concrete that has minimal bleed, that
is silica fume type concretes or high strength concrete that have no air entrainment. PFL Anit-Vap Film is
not a curing agent and does not leave any film residue on the surface, and subsequently will not hinder
application of any sealer to the finished concrete surface.
Precautions:
- PFL Anti-Vap Film is NOT a curing compound.
In addition to the use of PFL Anti-Vap Film, good concrete practice should be employed to reduce moisture
loss and control shrinkage cracking, such as:
- Plastic sheeting is placed under all concrete to prevent moisture loss through the substrata and stopping
water ingression from the sub base into the concrete.
- Wind barrier should be erected around very exposed site
- Ensure curing procedures are planned and implemented as soon as concrete will allow.
- Ensure construction cuts are executed in the correct locations and within 24 hours of the concrete
pour.
Application:
Equipment: Mist sprayer (or equivalent), safety equipment (see ‘Safety and Handling’)
Preparation: No preparation required.
Application:
- Shake PFL Anti-Vap Film.
- Dilute PFL Anti-Vap Film with clean water as follows:
Dilute 1 part PFL Anti-Vap Film with 8 parts water
- Ensure diluted solution is well mixed.
- Apply the diluted solution with a fine mist sprayer as soon as possible after screeding.
- Use during and after bull floating and trowelling operations.
Coverage: Approximately 5 - 10 m 2 /L of diluted product
- Coverage is dependent on the texture of the concrete
Clean-up: Rinse sprayer and other tools with excess water to clean.
- In case of spill, collect with absorbent material, ventilate enclosed areas, and dispose of
in accordance with current applicable regulations.

Safety and Handling:
Hazard: PFL Anti-Vap Film is considered non hazardous.
Safety: Wear suitable protective clothing including chemical resistant gloves.
Pack Sizes: 1, 2, 5, 10 and 15 L.
Storage: Store in cool, dry, well ventilated place in original container. Store out of reach of children.
Store away from direct sunlight, oxidizing agents (e.g. nitrates, peroxides, hypochlorites),
acids, anionic detergents (e.g. soap), heat sources, and foodstuffs. Ensure container is
sealed when not in use, and checked regularly for leaks or spills. PFL Anti-Vap Film can be
stored for up to 12 months.
First Aid:
Swallowed: Wash out mouth with water. Move exposed person to fresh air. Give small quantities of
water to drink. Do not induce vomiting unless instructed by medical personal. For
emergency information contact the National Poisons Centre (0800 764 766).
Eyes: Immediately flood with copious quantities of water, holding eye open if necessary, for at
least 15 minutes. Seek urgent medical attention.
Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes and wash skin thoroughly with excess water. If
irritation occurs or persists, seek medical attention. Launder clothing and clean shoes
before re-use.
Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure, keep warm and at rest. If there is respiratory distress, give
oxygen and seek immediate medical attention.
