PHEASANTS FOREVER SASKATCHEWAN CHAPTER
PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS 1990 - PRESENT
Neptune Lake Project – Southeast of Radville
- Involves three ¼ sections along the south side of Neptune Lake
purchased by Ducks Unlimited and Sask Wildlife Federation
- Pheasants Forever did the majority of the tree and shrub planting
mainly on the Sask Wildlife Federation quarter.
Hodgeville Project
- Provided tree and shrub planting on a ¼ section of land owned by
the Provincial Wildlife Development Fund.
Torkelson Project – Near Oungre
- Land owned by Ducks Unlimited
- Over 85,000 seedlings planted by Pheasants Forever along with Sask
Power, Saskatchewan Wetlands Conservation Corp. and the Fish
and Wildlife Development Fund.
Long Creek Project – Near Radville
- Consists of three sites provided by three land owners
- Extensive planting of trees and shrubs involving Pheasants Forever
and PFRA.
Don Keith Project – Southeast of Radville
- Consists of one ¼ of land purchased by Pheasants Forever and the
Fish and Wildlife Development Fund.
- A portion of the land was planted into trees and shrubs and the
remainder into grass.

Souris River Basin Project – Near Weyburn
- Cooperative enterprise with HELP International of Weyburn
- Land owners applied to HELP International for assistance in planting
trees and shrubs to protect creeks and drainage systems in the
Souris River basin.
- Pheasants Forever provided funding to assist HELP International in
planting over 110 miles of shelter belts in the Souris Basin.
- Program lasted four years and Pheasants Forever Sask was one of
the top four chapters each year in North America for the number of
trees planted.
Long Creek Private Land Project – Near Radville
- Participated in 10 projects with Saskatchewan Wetlands
Conservation Corp in the conversion of cultivated land to
permanent grass cover adjacent to Long Creek.
Glentworth Project – Near Assiniboia
- One ¼ of land was purchased by Saskatchewan Wildlife Habitat
Trust near the Wood River
- Pheasants Forever provided funding for planting 25,000 trees.
Morris Johnson Project – Near Beaubier
- One ¼ of private land was purchased, which was previously
planted with buffalo berry and sea buckthorn.
- Project is adjacent to two more ¼ sections of land previously
planted to the same shrubs.
