PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS 1990 - PRESENT<br />

Neptune Lake Project – Southeast of Radville<br />

- Involves three ¼ sections along the south side of Neptune Lake<br />

purchased by Ducks Unlimited and Sask Wildlife Federation<br />

- Pheasants Forever did the majority of the tree and shrub planting<br />

mainly on the Sask Wildlife Federation quarter.<br />

Hodgeville Project<br />

- Provided tree and shrub planting on a ¼ section of land owned by<br />

the Provincial Wildlife Development Fund.<br />

Torkelson Project – Near Oungre<br />

- Land owned by Ducks Unlimited<br />

- Over 85,000 seedlings planted by Pheasants Forever along with Sask<br />

Power, Saskatchewan Wetlands Conservation Corp. and the Fish<br />

and Wildlife Development Fund.<br />

Long Creek Project – Near Radville<br />

- Consists of three sites provided by three land owners<br />

- Extensive planting of trees and shrubs involving Pheasants Forever<br />

and PFRA.<br />

Don Keith Project – Southeast of Radville<br />

- Consists of one ¼ of land purchased by Pheasants Forever and the<br />

Fish and Wildlife Development Fund.<br />

- A portion of the land was planted into trees and shrubs and the<br />

remainder into grass.


Souris River Basin Project – Near Weyburn<br />

- Cooperative enterprise with HELP International of Weyburn<br />

- Land owners applied to HELP International for assistance in planting<br />

trees and shrubs to protect creeks and drainage systems in the<br />

Souris River basin.<br />

- Pheasants Forever provided funding to assist HELP International in<br />

planting over 110 miles of shelter belts in the Souris Basin.<br />

- Program lasted four years and Pheasants Forever Sask was one of<br />

the top four chapters each year in North America for the number of<br />

trees planted.<br />

Long Creek Private Land Project – Near Radville<br />

- Participated in 10 projects with Saskatchewan Wetlands<br />

Conservation Corp in the conversion of cultivated land to<br />

permanent grass cover adjacent to Long Creek.<br />

Glentworth Project – Near Assiniboia<br />

- One ¼ of land was purchased by Saskatchewan Wildlife Habitat<br />

Trust near the Wood River<br />

- Pheasants Forever provided funding for planting 25,000 trees.<br />

Morris Johnson Project – Near Beaubier<br />

- One ¼ of private land was purchased, which was previously<br />

planted with buffalo berry and sea buckthorn.<br />

- Project is adjacent to two more ¼ sections of land previously<br />

planted to the same shrubs.
