Year-Long Plan
One of the most important features of the AIM
Program is its year-long learning plan designed
to strengthen and enhance studentsÕ existing
academic skills. Students begin their UF career
in the six-week Summer B term by enrolling in
one of three different math courses. Additionally,
students register for a three-credit English
class, which helps them gain confidence in their
ability to comprehend, discuss, and understand
the basics of college-level writing. Students who
successfully complete the year-long learning plan
will fulfill all of their math and half of their
writing Gordon Rule requirement.

Academic Advising
Academic advisors are available to inform AIM
students about the requirements for their majors.
While in the AIM Program, students must meet
with an academic advisor in order to get
assistance in selecting courses and to assess

Housing
Since all housing contracts at the University of
Florida are established on a first-come, firstplaced
system, AIM students should pay
specific attention to all literature distributed by
the Division of Housing. Students must sign a
housing contract well before the start of the
summer semester in order to ensure a space
in an on-campus residential hall.
Financial Aid
All AIM students are encouraged to apply for
financial aid as early as possible. Many AIM
students will qualify for assistance with college
costs, especially since they are admitted to the
summer term. However, all financial awards
are made on a priority basis, so the sooner
students apply, the better their chances.
Students should also arrange for direct deposit
with their financial institution to help speed up
the process.
