Hydrogen Peroxide— The Efficient 

Whitener 

Perfecta Bravó has been shown to deliver 

better whitening results in 1/6 the time of 

carbamide peroxide gels. The secret? First, 

hydrogen peroxide, the active ingredient in 

Perfecta Bravó and Ultra, dissociates much 

more rapidly than carbamide peroxide. 

Second, hydrgen peroxide gels break down 

into the specific intermediate compound 

that whitens teeth most efficiently: the 

perhydroxyl anion.

Carbamide Peroxide 


Avoid Dehydration 

Perfecta® carbamide peroxide gels are formulated 

with a predominantly glycol base 

for minimal dehydration and sensitivity. 

Other gels use glycerin as a base. Glycerin 

tends to dehydrate the tooth, thought to be 

a leading cause of thermal hypersensitivity. 

Avoid Thermal Hypersensitivity 

A small percentage of patients may 

experience thermal sensitivity associated 

with whitening. By following a few simple 

guidelines, you can minimize or eliminate 

this side effect. 

Start Slowly 

Patients should wear the tray for 

only one hour the first day, then one hour 

twice daily for the first week. Overnight 

wear is not recommended due to a greater 

incidence of thermal sensitivity and tissue 

irritation; however, it is a convenience option. 

Lower Gel Strength 

Patients with a history of thermal sensitivity 

should use 11% gel for at least a week before 

moving on to a stronger gel. 

Reduce Wear Time 

If thermal hypersensitivity occurs, as a rule of 

thumb, reduce the wear time by 50%. 

Select The Right Gel Strength 

Perfecta 11%: Mild to moderate stains. 

Young patients, patients with yellow extrinsic 

stains, or patients with a history of thermal 

sensitivity. 11% is also used as the starter gel 

in the Perfecta Trio® system. 

Perfecta 16%: Severe stains, heavy tobacco, 

tetracycline. Patients with no history of 

thermal sensitivity. 16% is also used for 

maximum whitening in the Trio System. 

Perfecta 21%: Tetracycline stains, fluorosis. 

Dispense only to compliant patients with no 

history of thermal sensitivity. Give good 

instructions and frequently monitor 

treatment progress.

Enamel Microabrasion System 

PREMA® enamel microabrasion compound 

is a patented acid abrasive formulation used 

to correct superficial white, brown or multicolored 

“dysmineralization” enamel defects. 

Prema creates a plaque-resistant surface as a 

result of its enamel glazing ability. 1 

PREMA compound is applied with a 10:1 

gear reduction contra angle, on a low-speed 

handpiece, to safely remove a controlled, 

insignificant amount of superficial enamel. 

Enamel microabrasion does not recognizably 

alter enamel surface contours. However, it 

does permanently eliminate many developmental 

enamel coloration defects which do 

not penetrate deeply into the enamel surface. 

The compound is an ideal blend of specially
