1855 Proclamation signed by the Governor-General Sir William Thomas Denison & with the Great Seal<br />
of New South Wales (fair impression only) impressed in wax, minor soiling. Ex Slade Slade: sold for<br />
$179 at our auction of 17/5/2004. [The seal was the inspiration for the Sydney Views. It in turn was<br />
derived from a 1789 medal by Josiah Wedgwood fashioned from clay sent to him from Botany Bay]<br />
Twelve collotype plates stated to be from 1898 "Catalogue for Advanced Collectors" showing<br />
reconstructions of imperf Sydney Views, Laureates & the (6d) 'REGISTERED', a few small faults but<br />
generally in lovely condition.<br />
